Czesc,

My name is Ron Dudziak, I currently reside in Tennessee. It has come to my understanding that the name "Dudziak" is a variation of the name "Dudzik" and "Dudek". The only reason I've been able to confirm is that the Ellis Island Records show some immigrants either did not have legible enough writing, or the officials that copied the documents formally changed their name slightly.

I have been told that some longer surnames were changed when families came over from their native country either because the spelling was too hard, too extensive, or it was just plain hard to pronounce.

If anyone reading this has any information concerning any name changes, immigration facts, or family members/friends with any of the above surnames it would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to connect with family members worldwide. The "Dudziak" family is quite small from what I've found on the internet, at least compared to most other surnames. I know my Great-Grandmother was named Sophia Dudziak and came over sometime before 1910 from Poland. I know that's not alot of information, but I've only recently been able to find any information from my Father and haven't spoken with any other Dudziaks in over five years.

Thanks in advance.
