i am looking for information on Mathias DUDZIK (abt 1826-bef 1890), who immigrated in 1866 with his wife Mathilde, and possibly three daughters: Marianna, Josephine and Rosine. They resided in Chicago, IL during the 1870 census and in Ashley Pre., Washington Cty, IL in 1880. Mathias died before 1890. Mathilde died 22 apr 1898 in St Louis, Missouri. When Mathias DUDZIK immigrated he was also traveling with a Paul DUDZIK, and his wife Antonina and two children, Anna and Anton. At this point i am assuming that they were brothers. I know that Paul's parents were Martin DUDZIK and Anna KLINGER. There was a Paul KLINGER and wife, Maria, with 2 children, immigrated on the same ship.
They ended up in Chicago, IL.. Paul DUDZIK was my gr-gr-grandfather. After coming to the USA, they resided in Sharon Town, Portage County, Wisconsin.
Any information would be helpful, thank you
marie k pagelsdorf
I have seen threads with references to Tiffany Viril, Joseph Dudzik and Stephen Jaris Dudzik that intrest me. I am thinking that the the child born in 1962 could be a child of a relative.

Would anyone intrested please e-mail me at caladyleo@aol.com

Dudziak, Dudzik, Dudek...

Czesc,

My name is Ron Dudziak, I currently reside in Tennessee. It has come to my understanding that the name "Dudziak" is a variation of the name "Dudzik" and "Dudek". The only reason I've been able to confirm is that the Ellis Island Records show some immigrants either did not have legible enough writing, or the officials that copied the documents formally changed their name slightly.

I have been told that some longer surnames were changed when families came over from their native country either because the spelling was too hard, too extensive, or it was just plain hard to pronounce.

If anyone reading this has any information concerning any name changes, immigration facts, or family members/friends with any of the above surnames it would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to connect with family members worldwide. The "Dudziak" family is quite small from what I've found on the internet, at least compared to most other surnames. I know my Great-Grandmother was named Sophia Dudziak and came over sometime before 1910 from Poland. I know that's not alot of information, but I've only recently been able to find any information from my Father and haven't spoken with any other Dudziaks in over five years.

Thanks in advance.

My husbands' grandfather was Jozef STARZYK born February 14, 1883 in Poland/Austria. He was the son of Francszeks STARZYK and Bronislawa DUDZIK. Jozef STARZYK came to America
February 1900 and settled in Detroit, Michigan. He travelled back to Poland to his family and brought his sister Sophia STARZYK who married Peter Szymczyk in Detroit also. Jozef married Augustyna Lemke in 1910 in Detroit also.
I am looking for information on the parents of Jozef and Sophia. Who were Francszeks STARZYK and Bronislawa DUDZIK? Who were their parents? Were there other siblings to Jozef and Sofia? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Jean

I do not know of any Dudziks in Detroit area. These were my husbands' grandfathers' parents. These two names were on his death certificate as being his parents. No one in his family knew of these people other than the fact that they sent Xmas Care packages to them each year when my husband was growing up. I haven't done any research in Austria/Poland as of yet.

looking for relatives or information on Mathias DUDZIK and wife, Mathilda. Immigrated with 2 daughters in 1866 from Bremen to the Port of Baltimore. Daughter Josephine was 4 and daughter Marianne was 8. They came on the same ship as my great-grandparents: Paul Dudzik and Antonina Cyrhowski, and their 2 children: Anna and Anton. Have not found any connection but it is possible that Paul and Mathias were brothers. Paul was 38 and Mathias was 37. Paul and Antonina Dudzik located in Portage County, Wisconsin. There are other families in Portage County, but have not found a Mathias and Mathilda.

There also is a Rosalie Dudzik, age 1 year, traveling at the same time; same manifest number but she was traveling steerage while the others were in cabins.
Hello, Pamela. We moved to San Diego in 1966. I was two years old at the time. I do not believe there were any other Dudzik's living in San Diego at the time....if so, I was not known to them...as we moved there when I was two years old. Hope I can find some information to pass on...however, thanks for keeping in touch.

I am so happy you responded to my post. I don't know if I have much information about your dad but, I believe that my sister could be related to you. My sister was born in September of 1966 in San Diego and according to the birth index there was a child born to a dudzik and a kent on that date. My sister was placed for adoption at birth. I am just begining a search for any members of her birth family. Have you ever heard any rumors of another child here in San Diego? Even if she is not actually related to you, I will give you any of the info I have found out concerning your family. Please write to me directly at pamelasuebeaty@hotmail.com and we can discuss this further.

dudzik-biesik family

i am researching my mother's family. her grandmother was Rosalia DUDZIK, daughter of Paul DUDZIK and Antonia CYRHOWSKA; she had a sister Anna DUDZIK who married Christian RINKA; two brothers: Anton DUDZIK, married Catherine ZOROMSAKA and Frank DUDZIK, married Marianna CIEPLINA. Rosalia DUDZIK was born August 2, 1869 in Sharon Town, Portage, Wisconsin and married Paul BIESIK on November 18, 1889 at Sacred Heart Church in Polonia, Portage, Wisconsin. Rosalia's parents came over from Poland around 1866/7 with two of their children: Anna and Anton. I am looking for more information on Frank DUDZIK. Census records show him born in Poland, but did not find him on Passenger list with family. He remained in Sharon, Portage, WI; as far as I know Frank and Marianna had no children. He died August 25, 1930 in Sharon, WI. Also, trying to find any information on the children of Anna and Christian RINKA/RYNKA. Some of the children moved to Rhinelander, WI.
Steve Dudzik and my mother were together in 1967 and maybe 1968 in the L.A. area and around San Diego near the University. Steve was a mechanic and a painter. I have never met him. I have found a brother in Maryland and another brother in Texas. (They are full brothers) Also, another brother in Texas who actually died in a well drilling acident in 1987. Those three brothers were from Steve's very first marriage out of the Army in Corpus Cristy, Texas. I have only met his first born child, Steve once. We both flew to Kansas City in 1998 for a Commensment Ceremony. Very exciting!!!
I was born in 1968. Who are you? Are you a child of his? I talk to my half brother in Texas sometimes and he is under the impression that there are quite a lot of children!!! There seems to be a lot of rumors but I have not even come close to locating my father. Do you know anything?
Hopefully I will talk to again soon. Tiffany
