Georgeanna Playford Duer was my great grandmother. I tried to locate the article you posted from the Willard Record online, but had no luck, however I did find similar article in the Olean Evening Herald NY for June 3 1920. Grandmom Georgeanna was quite a character by what family members told me about her. A cousin has a picture of her in an indian costume... Still have to get a copy of it. She died of cancer and is buried in Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro NJ. Grandpop George died about 8 after her. Are you related to the Duer family??? Please contact me at: jadaflashe51@aol.com Jean Duer Ashe

What kind of information do you want? To my knowledge there are only 3 left in existent in the US today. 1 is in pieces some where up north, 1 is put together but not working & 1 is in Alabama & is running. This one is owned by a family member. His was brought to Alabama by the McAdory family. This particular one is 1907. He has the original paper work that came with the car. Email me with any question: stormyweathered@yahoo.com
Thank you Lynn Davis

According to the 1900 census, Ernest came to the US in 1850 which is probably accurate within a year or two. Don't have a date for Emma although her father was naturalized in 1856 so he had to be in the US by 1851 and she probably came with him.

Peter and Delia were married 29 July 1877 in Orange NJ and their marriage record is in the NJ State Archives in Trenton.

Peter came to the US in 1872 according to the 1910 and 1920 censuses and in 1873 according to the 1900 census.

Georgeanna Duer -- Sheriff of Red Bank, 1920 article

from The Willard (New Mexico) Record, 10 Jun 1920, Vol. 13, issue 27:
"Fear Woman Sheriff.
Female Officer in New Jersey Respected by Lawbreakers.
Soon After Her Appointment Mrs. Duer Demonstrated Her Worth as an Officer.
Red Bank, N.J. -- The presence of Mrs. Georgeanna Duer, acting deputy sheriff, in Red Bank, New Jersey, is said to be responsible for the scarcity of crime in that vicinity. Shortly after her appointment, Mrs. Duer demonstrated her worth as an officer, and since that time only a few petty acts of thievery have been reported.
Evildoers steer clear of Sheriff Duer's territory because she has the embarrassing habit of turning up unexpectedly at the right point to intercept the fleeing crook with his plunder. This happens because the woman officer has lived in the same locality for 38 years and knows every crook and turn in the highways, all the trolley connections and short cuts accross the country...
Sheriff Duer is the mother of 15 children, 9 of whom are boys. While the latter were growing up she organized them into a baseball team. A collection of prizes won by Sheriff Duer for fancy costumes worn by her on various occasions decorates the Duer home."

Hi. I have several George Kisslings, but you give no dates, so this is what I have:
Georg (no "e"), born in Germany, came to the USA in 1832. Had a son, George, born 1862 in Boonville, Indiana, died in Oriole, IN. Had a son, George Elbert, born 1888 in Oriole, IN, died in Carmel, Illinois in 1961. This George had a son, George William, born 1925, don't know where. I don't see any mention of Duer, however the George that lived in Indiana and Illinois might be a tie. Do you have the wife's first and maiden name?
You can email me at dkiss00@aol.com.
Deborah
HI, Thank you for responding to my post. My father-in-law is a Duer. He is the second generation of the Duer family, that dropped the Kissling name. His grandfather was George Kissling.George's father died and his wife remarried. Thats where the Kissling comes into play. The new husband who was a Kissling adopted all the children. George Kissling Duer. George was born in Indiana. This is all the information I have. My father-in-law would like to know more of the Kissling family. This would make his day.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!
Hi.I am a Kissling and my ancesters are from Indiana. I would like to know when the father (Kissling)passed away and do you have his first name? I have managed to go back to the 1700's and have names of the direct descendents, but rarely the spouses names.

I am looking for information on Zinaida Langloss (married name) who married William Martin Langloss while he was in the service in Germany. They were married and had a son born in Germany with the same last name as his father. Wm. Jr. was 4 months old when he came to the USA with his mother Zinaida. They lived for many years in Seattle Washington. Looking for any information on Zinaida and what her maiden name was. Do know she was born June 26, 1926 in or around Germany.
