Hi: I am looking for the Mother of Eugenia J Duez b.1832 in Lille,Nord,FR. Daughter of Louis Duez b.1807 in Flines Lez Rache,Nord,FR. The family records state her Mother died when Eugenia was very young, her father then placed her in a convent home in Paris. It seems to me there surely must be a record of a women some where giving birth to this child. Why has it been so covered up? The parents of Louis were:

I am searching for information on the parents names of Eugenie J Duez b, in Lille France in 1829. d.1901 buried in or near Concordia, Kansas. Father's name Louis Duez, miller by trade. Her Mother died when Eugenie was a very young girl. Mother's name is unknown. If any one else has an interest please contact me. Thank you so much. Maxine

Maxine Davies here, my gg grandmother was Eugenie Duez, b.July 1829 in Lille, France. d.6 March 1901, buried in an unmarked grave near Concordia, Kansas. Her father was Louis Duez, her mother died when she was very young, Louis placed her in an orphan home in Paris. As the story goes from family reports, she was very unhappy there & was pledged to marry a cousin she did not like, she persuaded a friend of her father's to take her to America. Charles Longuet did that, much older than Eugenie. One report states as they were boarding the ship, her father was coming aboard, she had the Capt of the ship marry them, her father was so angry, he left, disowning her, she never returned to Fr. or she never saw the father again. But, I have a copy of their marriage lic. where they were marr'd in Boston after they arrived. 8 Jan.1853, she was 24 years old he was 51.The man who marr'd them was Wm Palfrey-EsQ Justice of the Peace. Some how the age does not match her leaving at 16.I haven't anything to account for this gap.After Longuet died she m. Bourgeois in St.Ann,ILL. Does this help? Let me here. Maxine
