John Edward Duff married Letitia Levitt in Timaru New Zealand on 2 Oct 1861. On the marriage certificate he used the name James. On the death certificate it is John. They had 4 sons and 4 daughters. William George b: May 1862 D: 30 Jul 1864. JED is buried in the same plot in Timaru Cemetery, in an unmarked grave. Letitia b: 25 Mar 1864; Befsie b: 15 Dec 1866 (my Great Grandmother); Helen Louisa b: 17 Mar 1869; Harry William b: 6 Jan 1871 d: 29 Sep 1879; May Ethel b: 24 Sep 1873; Herbert Edward b: 8 Feb 1875; Stanley Brook b: 16 Jun 1877. JED died of pneumonia 11 Jan 1879. His widow remarried George Moorhouse in 1887.
