Edward Dufrene

I am looking for Edward Dufrene, sister to Adeline Dufrene who married Frank Furtado. Edward is mentioned in Adeline's Obituary, so I am assuming he lived in New Orleans. I can not find any information on their parents. Census records are not helping and Adeline's Death Record lists parents as unknown.

Dufrene and Marie Foche from Canada. During the time of Ferdinand IV, the French Revolution made its way to Naples: Horatio Nelson, an ally of the Bourbons, even arrived in the city in 1798 to warn against it. So I believe this is the history of the name and were Camardelle come from. My Grand Parents were Estelle Dufrene and Ferinand Carmadelle.

DES ALLEMANDS - Clara "Sis" Brupbacher Dufrene, 87, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Des Allemands, died Dec. 28, 2004. She was the wife of the late Tracy Dufrene, and mother of Marlin Dufrene.

She was also the daughter of the late Otto Sr., and Lydia Pertuit Brupbacher, and sister of Ruth Roy, Thelma Bernard, Ida Doland, Betty Ruiz, Gerry Vannoy, John, Jesse and Glen Brupbacher, and the late Orrie and Otto Brupbacher Jr.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was the owner of Sis' Flowers and Gifts for 43 years.
Services were Dec. 31 at Des Allemands Mennonite Church, with interment at the church cemetery.

Lowell W. DuFrene WW2 Army Airborne

Hi. I am looking for him or his family. (He would have been born probably between 1915 and 1926)

He was in the Army Airborne during WW2. He started out in the 17th Airborne Division/139th Engineer Battalion and possibly transferred to the 101st or the 82nd Airborne when the 17th was disbanded in 1945. He would have been in the Engineer Battalion, HQ & S or medical.

I am in the process of writing a book about the Battalion and would like to have him contact me. If he is no longer with us, I'd like the family to touch base with me to give me a summary of his life since the service. This also will be in the book.

I have also succeeded in getting these WW2 Heros to touch base again with their comrades after not seeing each other for almost 60 years. Their reunions have been wonderful.

This project is so important because 17 million personnel files were destroyed in the 1973 file in St. Louis MO. I want to make sure that these men will never be forgotten and will be put in the history books for generations to come!

Thank you for all leads to help me on this tribute to our WW2 Heros.

This wont answer your question, but my husband is a Carmadelle, but going into the family history it was Camardelle. There was an alphonse camardelle married to Lovina Ronquillo Aguillard. Antonie Camardelle and Angele Dufrene were Alphonse parents. Alphonse had a son Ferdinand Carmadelle who married an Estelle Dufrene. These were my husbands grandparents. There appears to be a history of Camardelle/Carmadelle marrying a Dufrene. All of my husbads family history is in La. The west bank...He goesback to Juan Ronquillo, but were trying to find out where the Carmadelles came from.

Just a little tidbit I picked up about researching your Coat of Arms! Couples who married were allowed to combine their Coat of Arms which may be why you have two different ones. They say it can be very confusing. I am a decendant of JULIEN Bouin dit Dufrene and was curious about their crest. What does it look like?

I traced the Dufrenes back to Canada (Quebec) as far back as 1641, and the Dufrene surname was Bouin. I followed the Bouin/Dufrene surname as far as 1713. By 1745, Bouin was dropped and only Dufrene was used. Please contact me for more or any information.

My info has brought me to 1641, that Francois Bouin dit Dufrene was the first to come to Louisiana, from Montreal Canada.
