Trying to find out who Sadie Dugan's family is. She was born in 1887 in South Amboy, NJ. Records state her father was born in Ireland and her mother born in England. I can't find any names of her parents or any siblings. She later ended up in the Bronx at an orphanage before getting married to Paul Rusch. Potentially could have gone by Sarah as well.

Are you positive that Everhart Herman is your relative? I have no idea how many kids were born prior to his entrance into the story. We always knew that Herman was an adopted name and that we were Irish, not German. The whole group lived in Homewood, Pittsburgh, Penn. which was a very Irish/German neighborhood until the 1950's when it become predominantly an African American community (as it remains to this day).

Yes, my father's name is also John. Keep in mind that I am 31 years old. My grandfather is Jack. My great grand father is Charles A. My great great grandfather is Charles O'Donnell (who was killed, making way for Everhart Herman to marry Margaret later on and continue to have children).

I would love to see Margaret's death certificate or know anything about this family (if you know anything). I know a lot about Charles A. (a politician and newspaper man in Pittsburgh) but nothing about anyone else. Because of the adoption of the kids by Everhart, the family line pretty much ends at Margaret Lanahan and Charles O'Donnell of Cork, Ireland after they come to Pennsylvania and he dies.

POW/MIA Korean War, DUGAN

I am searching for the families of a soldier with the surname DUGAN that were lost in the Korean War. At this time the government has no family contact. At the time he was lost his remains were not recovered. Family DNA is needed to identify remains if and when they are recovered. At the time they entered service they gave their Home of Record as posted below

Soldier: RALPH EDWIN DUGAN
Born: 1924
Date of loss: Sept. 21, 1952 KIA
Home of Record: San Bernardino County, Calif.

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. Our government has no family contact for this soldier.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (79 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find these families. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
517 Mohican Trail
Wilmington, NC 28409

40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
hgdavis@bellsouth.net
Daniel Dugan TN / MO Nancy Leonard

Daniel Dugan and Nancy Leonard were married Jan 6, 1838 in Crawford County Missouri. I am looking for Daniels first wife. His first 5 children (that I know of) were born prior to his marriage to Nancy. All postings I have found on the internet list Nancy as the mother of all children. Wesley, William, Miles, Martin, and Elizabeth were all born before 1/6/1838, I am pretty sure that Nancy did not have all those children before getting married. Missouri death records were not helpful for these children. Anyone have any leads?

A DUGAN Shot In The Dark - MARGARET DUGAN m BARNEY CLOUGH circa 1819

Any help out there? I have absolutely nothing on my CLOUGH (Cluff)/DUGAN family except for the following:

Barney (Bernard) CLOUGH married Margaret DUGAN. Our family records suggest Margaret DUGAN came from Donegal. I only know of one child, my gg-grandfather, John CLOUGH, born abt 1820 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The date of this son's birth is the basis for the total guess on their marriage being abt 1819, but it really could be much sooner than that. We could assume that Barney and Margaret were born about late 1700s or around turn of the century.

Their son John CLOUGH married Ellen O'DONNELL (b abt 1830), also born in Philadelphia. JOHN and ELLEN had 2 sons, Joseph Francis, b 4 Jun 1860 (my g-grandfather), and Bernard (b abt 1862), both raised in Philadelphia. Somewhere in this time period, spelling of last name switched to CLUFF.

Can anyone give me a push? Mary Wilson

John Dugan (b. 1845) m. Ann Maguire (b. 1853) circa 1874 in NYS

I've reached a dead end. I know my great-grandfather John Dugan came over to Columbia County NY from somewhere in Ireland around the year 1861. He married Ann Maguire, also from Ireland, and also settled in Columbia County. Ann's parents were Thomas and Mary. John's parents were James and Elizabeth. John and Ann had 11 children in Columbia County NY {Anna, Mary, Frank, John, Thomas, Katie, Margeurette, Agnes, Nora, Markie, & Jesse). These kids were all born in Philmont, Chatham, and Brainard, NY. Jesse (b. 1894, Chatham, NY) was my grandfather, and his son Michael (b. 1921) was my father. The Dugans migrated from Chatham NY to Valatie NY, where most of the Dugans in Columbia County still reside. If you have information on any of the people I mentioned here, especially John or Ann, please help me. Thanks!
