Family records from the following Worcestershire towns and villages: Bromsgrove, Bromyard (Herefordshire), Chaddesley Corbett, Feckenham, Hagley, Hartlebury, Kidderminster, Ombersley, Rock, Stoke Prior, Stone, Stourport-on-Severn, Wolverley & Worcester, then Aston, Birmingham.
DUGARD name from Norman French "Dieu (te) garde" - God Guard (you).
Earliest record of family name in area is Agnes DIEUGARDE of Stafford in 1381.
Head of family currently Robert DUGARD, Butcher, (n. c1760 Feckenham, Worcs.) who married Susannah PARR of Hagley, Worcs on 1.6.1779 at Hagley. My 5xGGPs.
Possible head of family is Robert DUGARD & Elinor PORTMAN m. 1642 (possible 9xGGPs) who had children 1643-51 at Ombersley, including Robert (1644) who m. Jane BROOK in 1676 at Stoke Prior (possible 8xGGPs). They had children in period 1678-95 including Joseph (1689) who m. Sarah BOLD in 1714 (possible 7xGGPs). They had children 1715-27 (all baptised at Rock) including Robert (1720) who m. Elizabeth DEERE in 1743 at Bromsgrove (possible 6xGGPs). They had children 1744-62 including Robert (1753) who may be my 5xGGF, above.
