Hi Jo,
Thanks for your message. I, too, am in a similar position - having been told that Archbishop D is a broth (?) to my grandfather, though possibly less direct than that ... anyway, my father comes from Emly, Co. Tipperary and his brother, Thomas, researched this whilst he was still alive - unfortunately, he has now died and mnone of us has his records. My father and his siblings were born in the early part for the last century, dad's birth year was 1914, his brothers older, and I understand a forebear of theirs was involved in the building of the church in Emly. Anyway, this part of Tipperary is very close to Limerick where Archbishop D came from... And our claim to fame continues - my cousin is the poet Ian Duhig. Let me know if you can add anything or if this helps you at all.
