Looking for any information of members of J Marston & Sarah Duke and their family. James or John Marston may have fought in the Black Hawk War. James was b. in Kentucky abt 1793, m. Sarah Duke 25 Apr 1816. b abt 1797 in Kentucy. First children were born in Kentucky and last ones in Wisconsin.
The following information comes from a letter sent to my Aunt in 1935.

Amanda Melvinia, b.14 Mar 1817, m 27 Mar 18343,d.3 Aug 1891
Charles Franklin,b. 8 Jan 1819 d. 12 Nov 1835
William H, b 17 Aug 1821
Richard K, b 11 Jan 1823, d. 27 Jun 1852 on way to Calif.
Mary Sophronia, b. 25 Feb 1825, m Wm Bunston 8 May 1842. Had 10 children. Last heard of in Mounford Prairce, Wis near Livingson.
James T, b. 12 Aug 1827, d. 8 Jan 1833
John R D, b. 8 Jan 1831 (in Wisconsin, m. Minerva Manlove-this im my Great Grandfather and I have detailed information on his family).
Thomas ? b. 13 Jul 1833, d. 13 Dec 1834
James Edgar, b. 8 Jul 1836. Went away as a young man and never heard from that I know of. Don't know if he ever married or had a family and there is no record of his death. I don't know the exact date of Father's death. You may know it as I was in Seattle. Mother died in Sept 1904. I am sure. (I'm not so sure of this)
Don't know which member of the family wrote this but this letter was found in Bessie May Marston's genealogy papers.
