Ellie F. Dukehart was born Mar 1873 in PA to Adam J. Dukehart and Annie Warthen. She married Charles Hoke and was a school teacher.

Hello – I don’t know if this is useful, but a “Charles J. Dukehart” (and his wife, Elizabeth) lived in Des Moines, Iowa, from at least 1930-something until their deaths. Mr. Dukehart passed away in the early 70’s -- 1972, as I recall--in Des Moines (Polk County) Iowa. He and his wife had no children. He did have a brother whose name I can’t recall but who also lived in Des Moines. Mr. Dukehart and one Robert Hughes (who I think was Elizabeth Dukehart’s brother, but I may be mistaken) became partners in forming “Dukehart-Hughes Tractor & Equipment Company” in about 1941, when my father went to work for them. This company was the dealer selling and servicing Allis-Chalmers earth-moving equipment in the State of Iowa. Since my father was born in 1908 and Mr. Dukehart was about 20 years older than he, this Charles Dukehart (known as “C.J.” and not “Charles”) would have been perhaps 20 himself in 1905, the date you cited. If this is useful, please let me know how you came to be interested in Mr. Dukehart and I would be happy to help track down further information. Of course there are Polk County public records of his death. While he had no children, Mr. and Mrs. Hughes had one daughter who might still be living. If she could be located she no doubt would know much more than I do.

DUKEHART John was born 1818 in Hesse, Germany. He and his wife, Catherine, lived in Emmitsburg, Frederick County, Maryland, USA in 1880 per census records. Catherine was born in Ireland circa 1819 and died 15 Sept 1897 in Emmitsburg at age 60. Her services were held at Mt. St. Mary’s in Emmitsburg. They had 2 daughters; Mary Margaret, born 1859 Emmitsburg and Catherine, born 1866 Emmitsburg. I would greatly appreciate any further information on John and/or the Catherines. Thank you.

DUKEHART Mary was born in Emmitsburg, Frederick County, Maryland, USA in 1862. She married NECK Joseph Francis who was born on 23 Jan 1862 in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Joseph died in 1941 in Emmitsburg and is buried in St Joseph’s RC Cemetery in Emmitsburg. Joseph and Mary resided on South Seton Avenue. His parents were NECK John and BATZ Dorothea. Mary died in 1929 and is buried beside her husband in St Joseph’s Cemetery.
I am interested in information on Mary’s family although any other information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
