Louvena Broadway Dulworth

I found her on an ancestry.com site being born in 1807. Then it lists her parents as John Dulworth (no other information) and Mary L. Broadway...born 1875....68 years after her daughter was born...all the ancestry then goes back from this 1875 date. Does anyone have any information on Louvena? These can't be her parents, or someone has their dates all wrong. Thanks.

Hello,
I was just browsing the internet and found this site. I am the son of Charlie Lewis Dulworth (Redoak, TX). He was the son of Francis Caldwell and the brother of Jess and Les, the twins. They had a sister named Elva. Francis father was David Mitchell Dulworth. We think they come from the line of Dulworth's related to John Dulworth from Tenessee but are not sure.
Terry

Tommy,
I believe David Mitchell Dulworth's father was Burly Dulworth, he was listed in the 1870 Overton Tn census. Burly was 45 b 1825, wife Hyla b 1825, Nancy E b 1853, Wm B b 1856, David M b 1858, Sarah J b 1859, James C b 1861, Ruth J b 1863, Malachi b 1865, Minerva b 1866 and Mary L b 1869.
I am related a few times to the Dulworths and to Nancy Ashlocks family too.
Since Burly was b in 1825 I do not know whose son he would be but he could be John Dulworth Jr's son. He had a son B b 1830 in the 1850 Cumberland Ky census. John died in 1855 and left a will. I only have the abstract which names a daughter Ailsa , son James and John and mentions 13 children. Was adm by John Dulworth andJohn Rush and witnessed by Burrell Willis and Wm Gregory.
Hope this helps.
Nancy

Anything you might have to confirm it would be helpful. Thank you. Joe.

I believe our immigrant was JOhn dulwich who paid taxes in Knox county, Tenn. and forty acres and a mule.

He had two sons I am aware of John and James. My Grandfather was John Dulworth. His dad fought in the civil war. He was awarded a confederate pension for his civil war service. My great great uncle James Dulworth went to California during the gold rush, returned to Kentucky and married into a prominent Ky. family. Out immigrant (John Dulwich) is identified in an old Kentucy history book I found at the Library of Congress. I believe my great, great grandfather John Dulworth, was the son of the immigrant John Dulwich.

The First John Dulworth

A researcher in the Indianapolis area, a descendent of the First John Dulworth's son James pointed me to an old Kentucky history book at the Library of Congress. It stated that our immigrant was from Germany. Somewhere I saw early tax roles of Knox County, Tenn., wherein John Dulworth (or John Dulwich) was taxed on forty acres and a mule. Maybe it was an early census in Cumberland County,Ky. that listed "John Dulwich". In the 1820 Cumberland County Census, I believe John, Hannah, James and John appear. It seemed to me that at one time Hanah was raising her younger brothers James and John. Maybe that Hannah was a granddaughter of Hannah the wife of the immigrant. Somewhere I learned that James, the son of the immigrant went off to California in the gold rush, came back and married into a well know Kentucky family. There is a will you can get from Byrkesville, Ky of a John Dulworth, who was apparently dying from TB, said his wife had left him and willed most of his possessions to a daughter Hannah. It is a little confusing at this point. Was this Hannah the daughter of the immigrant or the granddaughter. Good luck.

Many years ago when I was a very active researcher I corresponded with a Mr.Long from Indiana (probably Indianapolis). He told me he was descended from Hannah Dulworth. He is the gentleman who told me about the John Dulworth Last Will at the Burksville, Ky (Cumberland County) courthouse. I am not sure whether he sent me a copy of the will or if the county clerk sent it. I believe he also mentions the Speers connection. My mother was Nova Dulworth Spear (she died last year at 90 years of age). I believe I have heard her speak of Pearlie and Opal Spears.

His father was Johnny Hiram Spears, then Darius Spears, James Harrison Spears(who married a Polly Long) and then William Speer (who married Hannah Dulworth). I have just started researching this line and do not have much information. I would appreciate anything that you could give me. I don't have many dates(ie,birth, death, marriage). I stop at Hannah's Dad, John Dulworth Sr.-and I have NO information on him or Hannah. Thanks for your time.
