I'm researching a Moffett family, originally from Bath Co, KY. Various family members later moved to IL, WI, MN, IA, NE, TX, CA, etc. Martha Dunagan Williams posted a variety of information about this family on the LDS Familly Search site. The information that I have been able to check is accurate. She included other information that I have found nowhere else. I would very much like to contact her or her descendants to see if they have a connection to the Moffetts and if they have information about them they would be willing to share. Martha Dunagan Williams' address is listed as Ruthven, Iowa, on the LDS site, but I have been unable to locate her or find any information about her. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Robert E. “Bob” Dunagan, 85 years, of Erie,'
passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home. He was born, September 18, 1923, in Bradford, Pa., a son of the late William E. and Katherine Gillis Dunagan. Bob served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a technician with AT&T prior to his retirement. He was a founding member of St. Luke Church, a member of Erie Yacht Club, East Erie Turners and the Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, sailing and gardening. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Dunagan. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Bette McGurn Dunagan, of Erie; two sons, Bill Dunagan and his wife, Barbara, of Mentor, Ohio, and Tim Dunagan, of Searcy, Ark; one daughter, Mary Beth Horst and her husband, Bill, of Dayton, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Rob Horst, Andrew Dunagan, Calhan Dunagan, Sean, Patrick and Liam Horst, Amanda Horst, Megan, Katie, Ciara, Kimberly and Kensley Dunagan; and one sister, Janet Lane, of Bluefield, Va. I know this is a long shot because your message is from 2002 but I've just started working on my sister-in-law's family. Her great grandfather was William Dunagan 1846-? Her grandfather was William 1887-?, father, John Dunagan 1916 Bradford, PA - 1990 Cincinnati, OH. I would like to see what information you have. This would be a wonderful gift to give to her and my nieces and nephews. Thanks.

I don't know much about my ancestry, but I read your post and that Westview cemetery in Cove, AR is where all of my family is buried. All of my grandfather's brothers and parents. My grandfather's name is Palmore I will ask him who Andrew Frank was.

I did find and interesting tidbit of information. I understand that there was a Sarah Rebecca Graves (two of them, actually) in my line. In searching the name, I found a story about how the first (Revolutionary War) came to live with a tribe. If you have a Sarah Rebecca Graves, I will look again to locate that link for you. Nothing further than that. My grandmother and uncle have mentioned a "Granny Shaw" that was full-blood Choctaw, but need to dig further there, too.

Thanks for keeping me posted, and I will do the same. I am also seeking information on the emmigration from Ireland of my line. My uncle seems to think it was his great-grandfather William Harvey Dunagan, Sr. that came over round about 1840-1850...anything you might know on this would also be greatly appreciated.

According to my information, Joseph was married to Nancy Watson.

Both were born in 1847. He died in 1924. She died in 1902.
Both are buried in Omaha Cemetery in Morris County in Northeast Texas.

They had at least six children - all boys.

This Joseph W. Dunigan was born in Missouri, married in Ark. His father also Joseph J. Dunigan came from Tenn. Don't know about any Dunigan's beyond Joseph J.
Joseph W. had 3 sons. Henry, Frank and Archie. That's all the male Dunagan's I have info on. I have people from my Shepard line who came from KY. Dunagan married into my Shepard line.

Ollie was not Joseph W. Dunagan's sibling. She was his and Charity's daughter. Ollie was Nettie's (Sarah Jenettie) sister.
Nettie was my husband's grandmother. Ollie's other siblings were Mary, Maude, Archie, Dellie, and Frank. Nettie was 16 yrs. older than Ollie. I have a picture of Joseph W. Dunagan. And a few of your grandmother Ollie with her other sisters. I was trying to figure out how Glen Withnell was related when you said you was Joseph Dunagans grandson. I wrote Veda Shepard and asked her, she said Glen is Joseph W. great grandson. If you have any info. or pics you would like to share it would be appreciated. would love to see a pic of Ollie's grandparents, Joseph J. and Millie Dunagan. would like to know where Joseph and Millie are buried.

I am the one that sent you the photo, it was taken in Duncan Arizona in 1902, all of the people are listed as shown on the name listing.All of the people are the Dunagan family, Lorenzo Dow and his 2nd wife , his and her children and their spouses and children.
I am in Texas right now and do not have any of my books with me. I will be back in Arizona in a couple of months.

Gary, this is what i have to date on our Charles. He was born Charles A. Dunagan on a ship coming from Ireland to the States. I am figuring his birth somewhere between the years of 1864/5. His mother died on the way, possibly due to complications from the birth and his father died 6 months after arriving. According to the 1910 and 1920 census for Chenango co. New York his parents were from Northern Ireland. It also showed he had 4 children 1 son and 3 daughters. I have found the daughters but not the son. The only other thing I know is that his mother was of Dutch decent, that is according to the information I have from my great aunt, who was his grandaughter. She did not happen to know there names. 1/14/1931 - 11/10/2007 Cleora P. Dunagan, a retired educator with the Rowland and Corcoran High School districts, died Saturday in Fresno. She was 76 and lived in Riverdale, CA. Mrs. Dunagan was born in Denver, CO and was a longtime resident of Pomona and Chino. A graduate of Pomona High, Mrs. Dunagan later pursued her Bachelor of Arts degree at Cal Poly Pomona, where she graduated Cum Laude. Mrs. Dunagan also obtained a Masters of Arts degree from La Verne University. Mrs. Dunagan taught English and literature. Mrs. Dunagan is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald Raymond; children, Kelly Allan, Ronald Wayne, Robert Lloyd and Margaret Anne; preceded in death by her son, Brooks Wesley. Mrs. Dunagan is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 15, at Pomona Cemetery, 11:30 a.m. Todd Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Martha R Creed b 7 January 1827 MO d 17 Nov 1883 KS married a man with the last name of Dunagan. The only records I have been able to find are census for 1860 & 1870 showing William Dunagan with wife Martha R living in Clinton Co, MO. Age for Martha is right for my Martha Creed and the rest of her family was living in Clinton Co at this time so I think this is the correct person but can't find marriage records to prove my hunch. Any help would be appreciated.

I would love a copy of any info.
This isn't actually my line, I'm doing this for my aunt. She married the grandson of Condy and Margaret Dunagan, and he knows almost nothing about his family, other than his grandparents names. I've tried to research this line, but haven't had much luck. I did find them on the 1880 census in Denton Co., TX., but haven't found much else.
Any info would be appreciated.

It appears that Andrew is the son of Abner amd Deliah Dunagan. Abner b abt 1773 in NC. and died 22 Sep 1852. Abner's Will reports 3 sons with one named Andrew.

My Aunt has been looking into a Native American connection with the Dunagans, also. Our link, we thought, was Cherokee, but found later to be Cree/Creek. This line is the HULSEY families of Oklahoma/North Carolina. My part of the line is currently in Oregon (except myself). I, too, am seeking information, but looking for the Irish who married into the tribe after his arrival to the states.

Wm Dunagan was my great grandfather. His marriage to Martha Rosaline Creed was his second. He had ten children with Martha. I have been trying to trace him before he lived in Missouri as I have him being born in KY in 1818, but do not have a father or mother. He died in Douglass, Butler, KS on 2 Nov 1890. If there is any other information I can share with you please let me know.

Does anyone out there have any clues as to he Native American connection in that family. Burchel was William J. Dunagan's son by Flora(frances) Ann May Dunagan. I know they divorced in 1911 in Umatilla County Oregon and he went back to Kentucky. I am wondering if there are two(or more) William J. Dunagan's from Kentucky? Can anyone help? I have a picture of William if anybody is interested.
