Thanks for posting the photograph. Andrew Jackson Dunagin was my great grandfather. b. June 22, 1864 in TN, died Feb. 3, 1919. He married Elizabeth A. Lane, aka Lizzie Lane, she is buried with him on the tombstone. Lizzie's father was a Senator in the Texas legislature before Texas became part of U.S.
AJ's father was Thomas Henry Dunagin, b. Apr. 9, 1836 in White Co. TN. He moved family to Ladonia, Fannin Co. TX in about 1874. d. 1908 buried in Stith, TX.
I can't trace ancestry beyond Thomas Henry. Most likely, his parents came over the mountains from western Carolinas, but don't know. Would like to correspond with anyone having information about Dunagins in Tennessee in this time frame.
