Dunbars to the US and then NC

Trying to find a William Dunbar born about 1730 who may have left Scotland for the United States. seeking info on his linage and if his son Thomas Dunbar, born in 1759 was born in Scotland or the US. These Dunbars settled in Tyrrell co. N.C. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
