Surnames: Dundas, Dick
I have the following newspaper clipping from a Warrensburg, Missouri newspaper, unknown date. My great grandmother believed that the John Dick mentioned in this article may have been her great grandfather. I would love to have any info from anyone who might be related to John Dick or any of these Dundas family members mentioned in this article. Thanks so much for any help you can give!
“Her___ Dundas and h__ brothers left Alexandria, Vi____ and went to Huntington, West Virginia before 1830. Here he established a home and William P. Dundas, father of William T. Dundas and Chas. Dundas, father of Peter Dundas, were born. After the death of the parents the boys ages 11 and 9, were brought to Missouri by their brother-in-law, John Dick in 1858, before the war between the states. This John Dick was the father of John Dick, who now resides in Warrensburg and is about 87 years old.”
