I have a couple questions. I am also looking for a Hiram Cole m. Samantha, who I believe are the same family.

Given that Sylvester lists his mother as Samantha Howard in his marriage to Annie Ard in July 1904, and his birth place as "Hawksbury, Que[bec]",

A) what information do you have that Samantha's maiden name was Coldgrove? I am interested as I have seen it a couple places, and wonder if she remarried. I have other children, siblings of Sylvester, listing her as Samantha Marsh.

B) Where did you get that Sylvester was born in Yorkshire, England? I saw Canada on his first marriage, and England doesn't match any of the census records of 1851, 1871, 1881 that I have.

C) Where is Sylvester's middle name found? I am curious as Rhoda's is Isabel/Isabella (multiple spellings).

D) I have seen Hiram Cole (with wife Samantha Coldgrove) listed as the son of Salmon and as the son of Stephen. How did you decide which one was correct?

I am quite interested as my Rhoda is the sister of Sylvester and I am trying to sort out her lineage.
