I have been searching to determine where this family is from in pomern (prussia) as well as putting together the families from each of the children. I have most of the Ernest John family as this is the line my wife is descended from.

Hello Kyle,

Good to hear from you. My father was William James Dundee born at Bruslee, Ballyclare. His father was also William James Dundee, and we think that his father may have been Samuel Dundee, a son of John and Elizabeth Dundee, but we're not quite sure of the line. However, John and Elizabeth Dundee are buried in our family plot at Ballylinney graveyard. I have a photo of the gravestone, but it's quite eroded and not very easy to read, so I am trying to sort it out, so that I can mail a copy. In the meantime, I look forward to hearing from you, and you can contact me direct at shirley.pierechod@virgin.net if you wish.

Regards,

Shirley

Hello Daniel,

My maiden name is Dundee, and my father was William James Dundee, son of William James Dundee of “The Flush” house, Bruslee, Ballyclare. Our family burial ground is Ballylinney, and one of the gravestones relates to John and Elizabeth Dundee, both born in 1712, John died in 1776 aged 64, while Elizabeth died in 1818 at the amazing age of 106! Their eldest son, John, married Janet Hay and had two sons and two daughters, and lived at a place called “Covey Knowes”, which was about a mile away from “The Flush”, but we’re not sure where exactly it was, although we, (me and my sister Sandra), were born and brought up round Bruslee.(Sandra was the last Dundee to be born in “The Flush”). We are just beginning to try and sort out the relationships, but there are four grave breadths in our plat, and there is some more searching to do. If you are still interested, let me know. I have a photo of the gravestone of John and Elizabeth,, which I am going to have enlarged, as it is rather eroded and difficult to read. We both now live in Gloucestershire, but visit home every year or so, as one of my brothers, Colin, (died2001),stayed there, and his son, Michael, lives near Ballyclare.

Regards,
Shirley
Clara, Emilie and Velma are in nursing homes in southern MN. I do remember visiting relatives in the Elgin/Dundee area by the name of Andreson, maybe not the correct spelling. I was a child at the time. There are Gellerts living in the southern MN area

I am trying to trace my father-in-law, John Campbell who I believe came from Dundee. He was working as a shedman for British Rail when my husband was born in 1964. My husband's mother is Jocelyn Butcher ( though I believe she had the surname Over at the time). They lived in Christchurch Road, Bournemouth. He may have gone to Jersey for a while but I've been told that he is probably back in Scotland now.
Christopher and Henrietta Dundee

I am looking for any information on anybody with the last name of Dundee. Christopher and Henrietta Dundee migrated from Westphalia (now part of Germany) about 1850. They immediately settled in Wisconsin. At one time there was a record of a family of 4 - parents & two children - that passed through Ellis Island. I am unable to locate those records. Shortly after their arrival, they had a second son, Christopher Dundee (no middle initial). This Christopher Dundee was my gggrandfather. He eventually migrated to Oregon where he married Lily Hope Kelly. One of their children, Henrietta Lavinia Dundee Berkeley was my great-grandmother. She was born on May 7, 1882 and died on May 12, 1976. When the family migrated from Westphalia (they were originally from Scotland) their name was spelled Dun-Dee. Eventually they dropped the hyphen and the capitalization of the second "d". Any information that anybody has would be greatly appreciated!

Dundee's from Prussia / Germany

I might have a branch of your tree. They have the same last name and came from the same place about the same time. My relative is William Ferdinand Dundee. He was born in 1842 in Prussia. He is listed on the 1880 US Census in Washington, DC with his wife Emma Dundee (Walker) born in 1853 in Virginia, and children, Emma G. born in 1875 in Washington, DC, Eva born in 1878 in Washington, DC and George born in 1873 in Washington, DC.

He must have married before 1873. He is listed in the city directory for 1890 & 1891 for Washington, DC.

This may or may not be a relatives of the above but I found a family when searching through the 1880 US Census for other
"DUNDEE'S" from Prussia around the same age. I found them
listed in St. Marie, Green Lake County, Wisconsin: John Dundee born 1848 in Prussia, his wife, Henryetta Dundee born 1850 in Prussia, their daughters, Anna born in 1875 in Wisconsin, Ida born 1877 in Wisconsin and Minnie born 1879 in Wisconsin.

Let me know what you think. Looking forward to helping this Dundee family grow.
