Bill Dunegan was one of my 67 first cousins. Last time I saw him was at his father's wake in Clymer, PA. As far as I know I am the only one who has tried to keep track of the genealogy of the Cambria County, PA Dunegans. I have accounted for more than 600 of us and would very much like to contact Bill's descendants to bring their records up to date. Same with his brothers and sister Gretchen.

Contact me at
3030 Somerset Drive, Charlotte, NC 704-332-4339
or email rdunegan@mindspring.com.

Hope to hear from someone soon.

I'm new to the board and was searching Clymer, PA, where I was born and raised. Dr. Dunegan was our dentist back in the 50's-60's. He had his office above what was the Clymer Drug Store on Franklin Street. We, as kids, never wanted to go to Dr. Dunegan. I'm sure he was a very pleasant man, but we had this general fear of pain, you know, and when we had a tooth ache, my dad would say "Mom, call Dr. Dunegan." We would start crying. Seeing his name brought back many memories. I hope you find what you're looking for. Thanks for the memories!

Chris Green, Your Grandfather, Harry, and my Dad, Howard, were brothers. They graduated from West Chester (PA) Normal School and Pitt Dental School together and were always especially close. My dad practiced for many years in Ebensburg, PA, where I grew up. I always felt especially close to Uncle Harry and Aunt Callista also, and attended his wake in Clymer when I lived in Hudson, OH. I have a great photo of Harry and Howard in their WW I uniforms.

Your mother, Gretchen, and I were, of course, cousins. As the unofficial Dunegan family genealogist I would really appreciate if you could fill me in with all of Gretchen's descendants. Since I retired, I have been trying to catch up with my 67 cousins and their families. I have almost no info about the Wittines. Could you please e-mail me at rdunegan@mindspring.com or snail mail me at 3030 Somerset Drive, Charlotte, NC 28209. I can probably help you out with info regarding Uncle Harry. Best, Bob Dunegan

I was doing some research for a book I am writing loosely based on my family in and around Clymer, PA. A stones throw from Patton. My grandfathers name was Harry Dunegan and I know he served in WW I. As for the Idaho connection with Mark, I do not know. We never spoke much about his family, more with my grandmothers family. He died at the age of 90 in 1981. He was a dentist in Clymer and had four children. Harry, George, Bill and Gretchen. Harry and Gretchen have passed but George and Bill are still alive, both living in PA.
I am not close with either since my mother, gretchen passed in 1990.
Hope this was some help. If there is a connection, please feel let me know.
Chris Green, Cleveland, Ohio

Ruth Dunegan (sp??), born 1950s, Texas

I am looking for a Ruth Dunegan (sp??) who was originally from Texas. We were roommates in Tech School at Shepard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls. She was in the Air Guard, I was active duty Air Force. Her unique trait was that she did bird-calls, often in the middle of the night! Last I knew of her she had married an hispanic man (as had I) and was living in Texas. Sure would like to touch base with her again-please email if you know of her whereabouts.

Paul, my grandpa, was the son of James W. Dunegan and Mary Zora Ross. He also had other siblings who included Lee, Ralph, and I think James, And they had a sister who died very young whose name was either Sara, Elizabeth, or Mary Zoe. Even my mom and aunts can't remember. Are we related? If so I'd like to exchange info and hear from you. Sincerely,Ron.

You really need to know counties as that seem to be the best source of info.
None of the names sound familar to me. My grandfather and his parents and grandparents were from Newton Co., County seat is Neosho. They lived close to a small town Stella. Your family are east of Branson while mine are west but there is a town of Dunnegan in Cedar Co.on Hwy 123. Looks like there were Dunegans of some spelling all over the southern part of Missouri.
I have a problem with the names I have on the Dunegans. Daniel and Mary Duncan-Wright were too old to have these children. So I feel I am missing a link. Daniel Jr. b 11/17/1802in Greene Co. They are both buried on the Link farm (their dau's farm along with George and Lafayette and 2 probable babies) their children:
James Franklin b 10/14/1825 in Tn, d 2/26/1910 near Prarie Grove, Ar m abt 1848 Mary Fannie Milan
William Landon Dunegan b 10/1/1827 in Green Co.
B.
I didn't find William in the 1900 MO. census, however I do find Andrew J.

in the 1880 Ozark Co., MO. census. I have
been unable to connect Andrew to the families of this surname that came
through TN.

There is a number of his neighbors that appear to be related
that I have been able to connect to the TN.
family of Dunegan's.

Contact me by e-mail and possibly I can be of assistance.
