MORRISONVILLE - Charles Kenneth "Kenny" Dunkirk, 76, of Morrisonville died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at St. John's Hospital.
He was born Oct. 9, 1928, in rural Morrisonville, the son of Albert Alvin and Juanita Allen Malsbury Dunkirk. He married Dottie Jo Wefenstette in 1954 in Morrisonville.
Mr. Dunkirk was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and received a Purple Heart. He was a lifelong farmer.
He was a member of Morrisonville United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer and was a member of the YCIC Class. He also was a member of the Leslie Reddick American Legion Post 721, Christian County Farm Bureau and was a past member of the Morrisonville School Board.
Survivors: wife, Dottie; son, Gary D. (wife, Marietta) Dunkirk of Morrisonville; daughter, Carolyn D. (husband, Brian) Abshire of Pawnee; four grandchildren; sister, Mary L. Himstedt of Morrisonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Morrisonville United Methodist Church, the Rev. B.C. Hwang officiating. Burial: Morrisonville Cemetery.
Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville is in charge of arrangements.
