Hello

I am extremely interested in your post because I am looking for any and all information related to Rebecca Kissel, b. Apr 8 1849, married to William Lehman. Their first son was W. M. Lehman born about 1877, and probably died young. The second son was Willard Morrison Lehman born about 1883 and the third son was Boaz Wiley Lehman born about 1886. Boaz marries first Jennie Snyder and had a son "Jack" born Feb. 1917. Boaz married second Emily Borman and has children: Charlotte Lehman, William Lehman and Thomas Lehman. I really need help in identifing dozens and dozenz of old pictures some of which are addressed to Boaz, "Aunt Becky" and Willard. Please contact me.

David Dunkleberger train accident 1915

Plattsmouth Journal, Monday, April 19, 1915
Plattsmouth, Cass County, Nebraska

A SERIOUS ACCIDENT TO FORMER PLATTSMOUTH BOY
David Dunkleberger, Attempts to Board Moving Freight Train and Has Leg Taken Off

From Friday’s Daily
The news has just been received here of a most serious accident that befell David DUNKLEGERGER at Plano, Illinois, several weeks ago, and which resulted in the loss of the right foot of the young man, just above the ankle. It seems that David had started west for York, Neb., where he expected to take up a position in a store in that place, and left his home at Grand Rapids, Michigan, with funds just sufficient to carry him to his destination. He had stopped in Chicago, and while there had been robbed of $20, which he had expected to use in the purchase of a ticket, and this caused him to be up against it, as he had only funds sufficient to carry him as far as Aurora, Illinois, and to this point he proceeded and then walked to Plano, a few miles distant, where the accident occurred.
He had evidently decided to try and continue on his way by securing a ride on a freight train, and while in the yards was run over by a passing train and the foot injured so badly that amputation was necessary. He was found in the yards by some of the railroad employees, and the father was notified at once of the accident, while the young man was taken to the hospital at aurora, where he had been since that time recovering from the injury, and is apparently getting along nicely, although he still has to go through life without the use of the right foot.
The friends here of David will be greatly shocked to learn of the accident, which is very regrettable, as the young man was one of fine physical appearance, and to suffer such a loss at his age is a misfortune that will be sincerely regretted. The young man left this city last fall for the east to join his family at Grand Rapids, resigning his position in the Burlington shops here for that purpose, and since his leaving there has been no word received of him until the letter announcing the accident that resulted so seriously for him. Whatever the faults of the young man might have been, it is certainly a misfortune that he should be injured in such a manner.

More Dunklebergers are mentioned in an obituary for Ursula Linville at the NE GenWeb/Cass County site:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~necass/obits30.htm
Sarah, I worked with Jay Dunkleberger (married to Doris, with son, David) when I lived in Elnora NY (1968-72). We worked for General Electric ath the Knolls Atomic Power laboratory. Here is a post from the Bucknell alumni association newsletter. The Jay that I knew went to Bucknell and received an engineering degree.

Jay Dunkleberger lost his wife in 1999, retired from the New York State Health Department in 2001, remarried in 2002 and built a new home in Clifton Park, N.Y. He is involved in the Methodist Church camping program.

I live in Greensboro, NC and am on the Board of the Children's Home Society of NC.

I hope that this information helps.

She has a lot of info. Her email address is olcottgeneral@aol.com

From her research she feels George Preisch (1794-1879) may be the brother of Michael Preisch (1784-1858) married to Elizabeth Laros/Larrasch/Laroche (22 Sep 1783-1864); buried Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Town of Lockport, Niagara Co, NY.

Elizabeth is the daughter of Rudolph Laros/Larrache/Laroche (d1806) and Elizabeth Vesqueau/Wesco (d1785).
Tom,
Sorry for taking so long to reply. I have nothing on the Preisch line. They had 8 children:

- Elias A (1844-died in Civil War)
- Solomon Franklin (1849-1933)m. Sarah Rebecca Elizabeth Stambach c 1882
- Samuel (1851-1882) m.
Gayle,
Wondering if you could help me identify the parents of George Preisch who lived in Lockport from about 1820 until death in 1879 (Stahler Cemetery). He was born in Kutztown, PA, 1794. He had a son named George (1831-1916) who moved to Buffalo. Son Nathan (b. abt 1815) lived around Lockport all his life. Does this fit with anything you have?
I have several Preisch names, brothers and/or cousins, from when they all moved up there, and there's information on earlier generations in Pennsylvania and Germany, but I can't connect up.
Thanks.
Tom

Need to find family

My name is Sarah Dunkleberger and I am looking to contact family members. From what I understand Harry and Edna Dunkleberger, my paternal grandparents, both died recently. However, I am not in contact with my father, Gary, and have no way to confirm this. Also, his brother, Jay Dunkleberger, was married to Doris....who I fear has passed away with cancer. No way to know. I have a cousin, David...son to Jay and Doris, who was in the Air Force. I was born 8/17/76 in Manchester, CT to Gary and Debra....maiden name Chandler, adopted name Williams. Please help. I am in North Carolina now and have a daughter. I would like to send pics to family and know that Grandpa Harry was an avid geneologist. Thanks....Sarah

There were 2 Solomon Dunkelberger's that I know of in Lockport area in 1850. Solomon (1795-1854) son of Clemens Dunkelberger & Anna Maria Margaretha Catherine Gortner/Gardner/Gurtner; married to Christina Harmon (1794-1847) c1815; then to Barbara Cooney/Kuney (c1791-1895) c1849. The info I have is that he moved to Lockport area c1830. I have 11 children born to this Solomon, who is my great grandfather x5.

The other Solomon Benjamin (1820-1910) is the son of Benjamin Dunkelberger (1793-1857) who is the brother to the above Solomon; married to Frances Brown (1831-1919); had a son Harvey. This Solomon is the great grandfather x3 to Dale Dunkelberger who lives in Lockport and with whom I have been corresponding.

What family names would you be looking for? There is not alot of info out there for this branch of Dunkelberger. Will help wherever I can.

Elizabeth Dunkleberger - PA

I'm having a dreadful time with this person. She was born in 1780 died in 1820, m. to Peter Palmer in 1804. Peter's mother was Susannah Dunkleberger, d. of Peter Dunkleberger and Elizabeth Winar. I suspect that Elizabeth was a cousin of Peter's somehow, but have yet to figure out who her parents were. Anyone got any leads? This probably was all around Berks County or Indiana County, PA.

Hi. we received request to provide info about our branch for a Dunkleberger book that was being published (about two years ago was request). I guess my Barr family is related somehow. However, I didn't reply to that part of your message. I wanted you to know that I live in Lockport NY and if you needed info from churches or cemeteries I would be glad to help out some - don't know what I can do - maybe look for tombstones or records - I am new to all of this. Bye - Joyce
