I know your post is old, however, I hope you still check in once and a while. I am looking for information on Francis Lou Eldridge Dunlap. She was married to John Dunlap. This is my daughter's great grandparents. I have very little information on them and her grandfather Morris Paul Dunlap. If you can help me please let me know.

Alice Dunlap 1912

Alice Dunlap was living in Springfield, Missouri, in 1912, and attending Drury University there. She was probably about 18 years old at the time. This would put her birth in about 1892--1894. I cannot find her for sure in any census. In 1912, Alice was living with another woman, also named Alice Dunlap(probably her mother?), according to the city directory. There were several male Dunlaps living in the same house, also. In 1920, there is another Alice Dunlap living in Springfield, MO., but she is only 3 years old. What happened to 1912 Alice Dunlap? Did she marry? Where is she in the census? If you know anything about this Alice Dunlap, please contact me. Thanks brian

Hello Greg,
I can't tell you how much this means to me and wife. It would be great to have photos of my wife's father from before they were shot down. I have a lot of information on the mission and after mission reports but very few photos from that period. I'll take copies of any many pictures as you are willing to make and will re-emburse you for the cost. Charles Whetstone was another crew member that I had the good fortune to coorespond with before his passing two years ago. He was enlisted so he wasn't in the same POW camp as my wife's father. My e-mail address is etpapa at comcast dot net (I'm sending it like this to prevent SPAM e-mail miners from recognizing it as an e-mail address.)

Here is my mailing address.

Eric Thornton
17720 18th Avenue CT E
Spanway, WA 98387

Thank you so much for responding to my query.

Eric and Virginia (McBroom) Thornton

My name is Greg Price. My father in law was Curtis Dunlap. He just passed away on September 23, 2009. I do have photos that he saved from the war. I do not know if there are any of Mr. McBroom. The next time I am up at the house, I will look through the album. If you provide me with your address, I will make copies and send to you.

Dear Bobbye Jane;

I have updated information since 2004 and noted I kept referring to my William A.D. as Samuel (big oops, there, but given all that was happening in my life at the time, I can understand why my mind was slipping. I also had a computer crash awhile later and less than a year ago, did I get the drive data recovered--$1300--a serious hardware crash inside the drive itself. Ok, first, your my cousin: we descend from two different sons. Second, William was married twice: first wife was Ellen/Ellan THOMAS: August 14, 1806, Williamson County. His brothers Samuel Jr. and David married in the same county: Samuel to Nancy Riggs in 1818, and David to Frances "Fanny" Read in 1820. Fanny's father was James Read and David lived next to him--in Humphreys County. I suspect Ellen/Ellan died giving birth to son Thomas in 1832. Phebe Hall might be Phebe's married name, and she might have been a widow.

Samuel--father of Robert, Anderson, William, David and Samuel Jr. and possibly one more son, and at least two daughters, names unknown was born in 1757 in Craven Co., NC--as per his own pension app for Revolutionary War service. He had a half-brother named George who married a Craighead. Their father Samuel did NOT marry a Craighead. Samuel Sr. b. 1715--d. 1791, buried at Old Waxhaws Cemetery in Lancaster Co., SC. headstone says his parents were Alexander Dunlap and Antonia Brown--another researcher has positively identified them and verified this--they were NOT the couple from Ireland--they were from GLASGOW, Scotland. Our Alexander was a professor at Glasgow University. He also had one son who was also a professor and visited his brothers (Robert, Samuel, etc.) in South Carolina.

I have a lot more information to exchange with you--send me a direct email, PLEASE!

Cecilia L.

Martha (or Mattie) Dunlap married Austin Beach Bartholomew (son of John Bartholomew and Harriet Blackman), and had one daughter - Arlie LaSalle Bartholomew (my grandmother, who married William Roy Freed) and three sons; LaNota Clayton, John Ross,(both of whom died in childhood) and Percy Hugh, who married Anna Upson and had no children. According to my grandmother, Mattie's mother died in childbirth, and she was taken home and raised by the doctor who delivered her. Arlie's daughter, Edna Ruth Freed, said that some of the Dunlap family contacted Arlie some years after Mattie died in 1918.

April all I have is that he came from Laurens Co., S.
c.. Moving to Robinson, TWP, Crawford Co., Il. in 1818. He moved here with a bunch of folks from S.C., and Ky. When he and Hannah got older they went to live with one of their children living in Christian Co., Ky. and that is where they were buried upon their deaths. William and Hannah are also my 5th Great Grandparents from their son William. If you have a specific question I would be glad to take a crack at it. Hope I can be more helpfull.
But in answer to your original question I do not know where he and his family came from prior to S.C., sorry.
Gary

Yes there son William served in the Revolutionary War. While residing in Laurens Co., at the age of 20, he enlisted in the army on the Revolution, in March 1780 he served under Lt. Samuel Pearson and Capt. Joseph Pearson and was stationed at the head of the Cooper River. In 1781, he was drafted under Capt. Duval and was sent to the coast. Duval was promoted to Major and Kennie Hudson became the Captain. In 1782, he was active with Cap. Hudson in buckboarding along the frontier between the white settlements and the Indians.(He moved to Ky. and then to Lamotte Twp., Crawford Co., Il)

I met Sarah's son, Andrew Finley Key, a couple of times when I was a kid. My grandma, Clarice Belle Key Morris, would come to visit us east of Oklahoma City and we'd go to Chandler to visit. Once we visited him in OKC. I've got a Key Family Book that he wrote; Grandma bought it for me. There is apparently alot about the Key family in the museum in Chandler, OK; when I went to Chandler a few years ago, the museum was closed. I did meet a couple of the Keys that still live there. Mervin David Key had a copy of my book plus a sequel.

I'll be glad to share my info with anyone.
