DANIEL, Mrs. Princie Lee age 80 went to be with the Lord on Thursday November 13, 2008.

A native of Franklin, Georgia, she was the first daughter born to the late Willie and Maude Dunson on October 14, 1928.
She was a member of Mt. Pigsah Baptist Church for over 30 years where she served as a Nurse's Aide and a Pastor's Aide.
Preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Maude Dunson, former husbands, George Daniel and Sammy Hearn, and 3 brothers, Ervin, Bennie and Lovejoy Dunson.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children Emma (James) Peoples, Ethel (Woodrow) Davis-Mays, Willis (Julie) Daniel, Henry Daniel and Betty Payne; 10 grandchildren; 9 brothers and sisters Emma (Hewell) Lewis, of Camden, NJ, Elease Freeman-Denton, of Kansas City, Missouri, Mildred (Elbert) Tillerson of Inman, South Carolina, Camilla Parham, Myrtle (Vernon) Turley, Joe (Thelma) Dunson and Amy (Robert) Daniels-Bolds, of Dayton OHIO, Ora Lee Wyatt of College Park, GA, Harold (Narvis) Dunson of Carrolton, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held on Friday November 21, 2008 at 11;00 AM at Friendship Baptist Church in Franklin, Georgia. Please send all floral arrangements to Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home, 201 Hamilton Street, LaGrange, GA 30240.
Ceremonies entrusted to McLIN FUNERAL CHAPEL / NORTHERN HILLS, 2801 North Gettysburg Avenue.

If they went to SC I think they went to her home for help in dealing with his disease. My relative was having strokes and they put him in an institution as crazy.

I tried several variations of Lon, Lone, etc and came across a black family with similar names. Dunsons owned slaves in Troup County, Ga and Chambers Co., Al. Their county records were burned several times in history. Sorry I could not be more help.

for Frank H. Hollingsworth, living in Central Hatchee, Heard, Georgia. His occupation should just read farmer. The slave owner occupation was meant for his father Levi Hollingsworth. Oops my bad.

I am descended from Linton C Dunson who was father to Levi Jackson Dunson who was the father of Adelia V Dunson who was the the mother of Lennis Rice who was the mother of Malice Young who was my grandmother...the first 2 are buried in Commerce at the Dunson family cemetery...Adelia is buried in Turner county Ga.

I am sorry I can't help you with that. I just know the family was in America long before the revolution and several fought in the war. Including Thomas Senior. That is about all I can help you with. If you get proof of anything else I would love to hear about it.

Do you have any idea when Dunston's would have migrated from England? One of my aunts had done this , but I have no idea where it is. She did tell me that Dunston means dun stone, meaning they were from an area of dun-colored stones.

I believe everyone is stuck in the same spot. I don't know that much about the Senior Thomas. He was born near Richmond, Virginia. I found where someone said he died August 14, 1840 in Logan Co. OH. I have not verified that date. He married Zana in VA. I have manage to piece together 11 children. The first 5 were born in VA. I know he had several brothers.

Rush was my grandfather and we have been to Bellaire and have a picture of the headstone. We also became aquainted with the Dunsons up there and have kept in touch with them.

I researched the Patrick line, as my great-granddauaghter's last name is Patrick and I was trying to see if there was a connection.

My grandparents went up to Bellaire in a covered wagon around 1900 so that they could take a team up there to the logging camps. They went from Hardin Co. They were only there a short time, as the baby died and they decide they wanted to farm. They came back as far as Defiance Co. where my grandmother's brother lived and settled there, where my dad (Wray B. Dunson)and three more girls were born. That's how we ended up here in NW Ohio.

Have you been able to trace back any farther than Thomas Dunston (1750-1840)? I am stuck there.

Rush Dunson was the son of Lewis and Margaret Plews Dunson. The other Dunsons who were living in Bellaire, MI were the family of Emanuel Dunson. Emanuel is the younger brother of Lewis. While living in Bellaire Rush's son Beniah Wray Dunson was born and died. I have a photo of the headstone.The parents of Lewis and Emanuel are Thomas and Margaret Patrick Dunston. Notice the "T". The "T" was used until the mid 1800's when the younger generation began to drop it out of the name. the parents of Thomas are Thomas and Zana Carbon (some say Cushing). Any more questions? Just Ask.

My grandparents were from Hardin Co. Rush and Belle (Wray) Dunson. They left Hardin Co. in the late 1800's and migrated to Bellaire, Mi. where other Dunsons were living. They returned to Ohio after 1900 and settled in Defiance Co., Oh .where my father , Wray Dunson was born. He had 6 sisters, also.
I had a Dunson geneology, but lost it in a move, and don't know much about the family in Hardin Co.

James W. Jackson and Caroline Dunson were married in Marshall County, Mississippi in 1844. LDS has confirmed the marriage of the two, and has further information and records that they will not share with anyone who is not a member of their church. From family stories I know that James was known as "Little Jimmy Jackson" and Caroline might have gone by other names such as Mary and Lucinda. If anyone can help me with this search I would be much indebted to them. Also I am curious as to why the LDS would keep information and records from a direct descendent? Can someone explain?

just got some new info on Thurman Dunson,my son was on vacation in Georgia and I had him check out Stateline Cemetery
where Thurman is buried and he found his headstone the name that appears on the stone is THURMAN "T.H." DUNSON 1867-1924

Levi Jackson Dunson was one of my forebears. He lived in Jackson County, Georgia. Some of the Dunson's moved to Troup County (LaGrange, Georgia) which is close to the Alabama line. I believe they moved to Troup County as the result of a land lottery win. Others remain to this day in Banks County, Georgia. My grandmother was Mellie Corrine Dunson, daughter of Reese Jackson Dunson and Frances Julie Ann Sailers Dunson. The Sailers and Dunsons intermarried quite frequently, such that my grandmother and mother are also my cousins!

A Carroll Gene Dunson was buried yesterday in Munford, Tn. The Munford funeral home had charge. You may get clues there.

I Live in Dayton, Oh and my family line is Dunson-Wilkes-Beasley-Dix-Reid-Towns-Alford-Rutledge. I know that Dunsons came from Lagrange, GA and came to Ohio in about the 1920's.
