I did not look at the other posts but this is what I know of him.. Francois Prevost, 1637-1670, they had a child Anne Claude Prevost 1665-1690. I don't have anything else though, I have more on Saucier's as they are the line I am researching. Hope that helps a little bit.

Hello Greg,
I am just now beginning my research on the Duperon families of Pointe Coupee, Louisiana. I beleive that I am a descendant of Victorn Duperon and Marie Leontine Honore. Long story here. The name has been spelled Duperon, Duperron, Duperont. Since your message is very dated Iwill wait for a response before continuing any further.
Regards,
Beryl

Bonsoir Marguerite,

Looking for information about my grandfather [b. 1915, d. 1989]. As far as I can tell from his SSN, he was born in or around Wyandotte, Michigan, but that's about all. Anyone familiar with the family in that area?

Please check out my reply on the Duperron sound board. The duperrons originate from the Lavertu family. Please contact me on my e-mail for more information: jamesl@nci1.net.

Re: duperron

In reply to your letter, as far as I know, most of the Duperrons were Lavertus from St-Henri, Quebec. There is quite a history to the reason for the change of name. I have published a genialogy book on this family, and you can probably find it in a genealogy library.

The Duperron name originates from Jean Guillaume Peyron (peron, perron, duperron) dit Lavertu. He was born in Avignon in 1730 and crossed over to Canada on the Algonquin on June 26, 1755. He was a soldier in the Queen's Regiment (Regiment de la Reine). He married Josette Allaire and had a large family, including four sons. This particular family all changed their names from Duperron to Lavertu in the 1860's. You say "Paro", which sounds like Perreault, or possibly Perron. Therefore, I'm not exactly sure if we're talking about the same family. I would need to have your Paro ancestor's name and that of his wife, etc. Then maybe I can find it. You may get back to me. James. My e-mail is jamesl@nci1.net

Alexina Marie Duperon

I am currently in the process of searching my family tree. I have hit a rut...
My grandfather, the late Frederick Glenn Tiedjens was born to William Tiedjens, and Alexina Marie Duparon. She died due to complications of child birth. I am still in the process of finding out the date.
I have always been led to believe that she was French Canadian and Cree. But I have just heard that she may have been born in Paris France.
William and Alexina settled in the Porcuine Plain area of Saskatchewan, Canada.
If any one may know anything that may be of assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.
I do have a picture of William and Alexina. She had a very small frame.
Again, thank you!
