I am just beginning my ancestry search and am seeking any information about my Duphorn relatives. My grandfather was Christopher Duphorn who resided in Superior, Wisconsin and later in Solon Springs, Wisconsin. He married Ethel Foss and had my father, Jack C. Duphorn in 1918. My grandparents and my parents are all deceased. In growing up, we were never aware of any relatives beyond my grandfather. I am wondering if anyone may have knowledge of the Duphorn family who resided in the Wisconsin area.

Sharon -- Calvin Duphorn is my direct ancestor and I have an extensive Geneology back to Simon and Barbara (Boose)Duphorn. My information is that Calvin Frank was born Oct. 2, 1843 in Emmitsburg and died Feb. 1, 1925. His father, Samuel was born on August 4, 1798 in Emmitsburg and died on Feb. 18, 1884. He is buried in the Elias Lutheran Church Cemetery in Emmitsburg. If you have records to the contrary I would appreciate the opportunity to correct my records. Also I would appreciate any other information you might have on this line - especially going back beyond Simon. My line comes through Calvin's brother Robert Samuel to Frank Albert to Albert Maxwell - my father.

Duphorn Surname

I ahve some basic info on what may be a close relative of your Civil War Duphorn (I have not done extensive research on this line). The ancestor I am researching is CALVIN DUPHORN, b. Oct 1844, Emmitsburg, MD (nr Gettysburg, PA); m. 1879 to Cora Mae Myers, b. 3 Sept 1861 in Gettysburg, PA. Calvin's father was Samuel Duphorn, b. 1798 in MD. Advise if you think this may be a link and if you have further related data. Thanks, SHARON
