Surnames: Durbin, Ferguson, Jackson, Weelin
I am trying to find info on my great grandfather, Sam Durbin. He was placed in an orphange about 1895-1896 after both his parents died in Dec of 1895 in Denison, Texas. Sam had an older brother name Leonard. Leonard married Donia ?(possibly Jackson) then he married a Carrie Weelin. Leonard land his wives lived near Roseud, Texas. Leonard was born in Missouri.
Sam ran away from the orphange in 1902 and made his way to San Augustine and Sabine Counties Texas. He married in Sabine county 1904 to Eugenia 'Genie' Ferguson daughter of Jim D. Ferguson and Mary D. Chumley.
It is believed that Sam and Leonard had sisters named Dora and Edna. There may have been brothers Tom and Gabe or Gabriel.
Parents names are John and Mary. Ths info came from Buckners Children Home, where Sam was placed.
Family story says that John and Mary and their children came from Oklahoma and got as far as Irving Texas. They came in contact with small pox and parents and some children died. They were buried in Irvng.
Any help would be appreciated. I have been searching for nearly ten years and can not find any info on them.
