Most of the Durees in the US are descendents of Jean Durier who immigrated here about 1685 from Utrecht, Holland. His parents were Pierre Durier and Margaret Charoy who left France before 1654. The spellings include: Durier, Durie, Duree, Duryea, DuRee, and DuRie. They are all from this same line, but changed spellings. The Durees are mostly from the Samuel Durie family who migrated to what is now KY shortly after the Revolutionary War. The research in Howard Durie's book does not have any direct connections to any of the places you named.
