I do believe that there are relatives of his in our newsgroup. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/durnford-family we also have a web site wwww.durnfordfamily.com If you join the newsgroup you can send a message out to everyone. I think that Patrick Durnford is the relative of Richard Selby Durnford.

Hi,

I'm a military historian from London and am trying to track the descendants of the family of one Richard Selby Durnford. He had been a master at Eton College and was killed with the King's Royal Rifle Corps at Hooge, 1915.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Alexandra

Hi,
I belonged to your website for several years and finally gave up. Seems everyone was interested in everywhere, but CA. I don't have much information about the family and I may have already given it to you.
The family I'm looking for was in Humboldt Co., CA. Some may still be there. My grandmother's sister married in and I am trying to find them.
Get back to me and I'll give you the information I have, it's very sketchy. Thanks, Corky

Good morning, This may sound farfetched, but I'm related to your family through an aunt. Mary C. McKenna m. Wm T. Durnford. He is the son of Robt. F. Durnford of Humboldt Co.
I am particularly interested in any information you might have about this family. I know they were married in Humboldt Co.
They were in San Francisco for a while and then moved, I think, to L.A. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Corky

Go to www.members.cox.net/durnford I don't have any Irish Durnfords but some of the "Military Durnfords" were born in Ireland because of military postings and many have labeled them Irish. I know of the California Durnfords and I have been researching them, but I haven't figured out where they came from. A lot of the Military Durnfords moved to the states and ended up in Utah and Wisconsin. If you have any info send it to me at cdurnford@cox.net and I'll post it up on my website. We also have a newsgroup that you can access through the website to get in touch with other Durnfords.

Cynde
