Townsend Duryea was the son of Hewlett Duryea, but this branch of the family is rather distantly related to Hiram Duryea. The origins of the Hewlett Duryea branch are with the second generation Jacob(2) Duryee, while Hiram is a descendant of Jacob's brother Abraham(2) Duryee. I descend from both Jacob(2) and Abraham(2) myself.
