Toupin Families in France before 1580

More information on the family TOUPIN ( before 1580)

I am an American Toupin living in Paris for since 1994, my French friends helped me to find info on the Toupin family on the link below:

http://www.infobretagne.com/plouigneau.htm

Here are some interesting facts:

The Toupin Family was a noble family living in the ARMOUR coast of Brittany France - Their name was TOUPIN de KEVENNIOU (or Toupin from Kevenniou)

They owned the Château de Kervenniou in the 15 century, it was passed on to several generations of Toupin families, other families living in the Chateau before were the families of Acigné and the Dukes of Richelieu. The Chateau was distroyed during the of the "Ligue" (see French text below) please note: I understand from the local folk in the area that the war of Ligue was an attempt by the Catholics to eliminate the Protestants of France. Apparently the Toupin family was tolerant because as you will see below (in French) in the Notre-Dame de Luzivilly ou Luzivily chapelle, all of the coats' of arm of the noble families were hammered off of the walls except for the Toupin family of the 16th century who possessed the (le fief de la Ferté) which means the land of the proud (so he was a noble & prominant land owner). Olivier Toupin was one of 21 noble families of Plouigneau in 1481 (it is mentioned that 22 families existed in 1426) at the meeting of armed men of Tréguier (last text at the end). Olivier Toupin was the second wealthest nobleman with 400 pounds (livres) of revenue. I have found their coat of arms which I have posted to the media, you'll notice on the bottom where it is written (Brest) on the bottom of the image under the coat of arms as it was the county seat closest to their village.

Jehan BOTBOZVEN (160 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît en archer ;

Lorans CARN (25 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît en archer ;

Henry COETSAUST (140 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît en archer ;

Hervé DERYEN (40 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît en archer ;

Jehan DU GASPERN de Haevealler (60 livres de revenu) : excusé comme appartenant à une compagnie d’ordonnance ;

Martin ERNAULT (5 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît en archer ;

Alain ESTIENNE (50 livres de revenu) : défaillant ;

François GOASBRIEND de Goesbriand (200 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît en archer ;

Jehan GOUAFFUEC (12 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît armé d’une vouge ;

Yvon GOUAFFUEC (12 livres de revenue) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît en archer ;

Guillaume GUILLAUME (12 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît armé d’une pertuisane ;

Charles KERJAGU (25 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît armé d’une pertuisane ;

Tanguy KERJAGU (12 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît en archer ;

Bizien LE ROUGE (30 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît en archer ;

Guyon LE ROUGE (250 livres de revenu) : comparaît en Homme d’Armes ;

Guyon LE ROUGE de Ancremel (600 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine ;

Jehan LE ROUGE de Kerdavid (25 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît en archer ;

LE ROUGE de Roesau (5 livres de revenu) : défaillant ;

Jehan LE ROUX de Kerloshezre (140 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît en archer ;

Jehan MERAULT (20 livres de revenu) : porteur d’une brigandine et comparaît en archer ;

Olivier TOUPPIN de Kervenniou (400 livres de revenu) : comparaît en Homme d’Armes.
Hi!
I found your posts about the Dusseault family while doing my own research. I'm related to Alice Dusseault and I'm trying to figure out the Holyoke connections... If you have any info you can share that would be great. I have a public tree (Nadon Family Tree) on ancestry.com that you can view if that helps fill in any blanks for you.

Thanks and good luck!
Danielle Kennedy

I see you were married to a William Thatcher? The information I am looking for would be for a William Edward Thacher born about 1924 in New York. Would you be able to provide any information about this person? I'd really appreciate any help you can give me.

Hi Todd, I'm Gail DeLucca, Melissa's mother. My parents were Theresa and Raymond. I remember you when you were a baby in a playpen. You were so cute! Your mother, Linda meant a lot to me as a child. I really looked up to her. Your grandfather Leo always refered to me as "the baby" no matter how old I was. I always looked forward to visits with our CT relatives.

Aunt Irene is getting old but still kicking. I know she would love to hear from you. She would be able to answer your questions more specifically. Her telephone # is: 603-524-3230. She is in bed early most days. She has heart problems and gets tired very easily. I am diabetic which I'm told runs in the Poisson family.

I have 5 children of which Melissa is the oldest. I lost my youngest son, Ray, to a drug overdose in 2007. He had just turned 20. Now I speak in schools all over this state on drug abuse. I also have 2 grandsons from Melissa.

Other than the above, my life is very boring.

Take care,
Gail

Not sure what, if any, connection, but my grandfather was Joseph Duso, b 1884 or 86, in Canada. Ormsby, I believe. Don't know what the relationship was, but one of my cousins in NY had a grandfather, Alfred Duso, who married the sister of my grandmother Benjamin. Kind of confusing, but we think they were either brothers or cousins who married the sisters from Clinton County. If you think this may be the same Alfred Duso, I would be happy to pass along your email address to my cousin. She might have more concrete information for you.

My grandfather was Alexander Edward Dussault, he was born Edward E. Duso and is the brother of Fred Duso, son of Fred Duso and Virginia Peet. I actually have this family line all the way back to France. If you would like further info, and perhaps could pool our information together please contact me at rgdtad05@aol.com I recently acquired a bunch of baptism, marriage, and burial records for a long line of Dussaults. I also found the Duso's living in 1880 actually in the US. Although the name is really butchered in the US Census. But its them. Anyways hope we can share info.

Ron Dussault Jr.

I have a question to ask of you. You said your grandparents were Fred and Virginia Duso of NY, who was your father or mother, which one of them was a Duso originally. I am actually related to one of Fred and Virginia's sons, his name was Edward E Duso, and he married my grandmother Blanche and they had 1 child named Ronald, which is my father. Edward E Duso, later changed his name to Edward Duseau, then to Edward Dussault, then to Alexander Edward Dussault. My grandmother and him divorced around 1949. Her name was Blanche Dussault(Laflam). But I know Alexander(Edward) remarried a woman named Isabel, and lived in Florence, MA. I been trying to research the Duso family, because I never knew any other then my father. Lately I just discovered the US Census of the Duso family, and been trying to research them. If you could help me with some info that would be great!

Also possible, he went by Edward most of his life, but I remember when his obituary came out I could have sword it read Alexander Edward Dussault, because Edward was his middle name.

Alexander Edward Dussault

I am looking for anyone with any knowledge of Alexander Dussault. He was born Sept. 8th 1907 and died Dec. 20th 1991. I know he was married at one time to my grandmother Blanche Dussault(maiden name Laflam), and they had 1 son, Ronald George Dussault. When my father (Ronald) was very young, Alexander and my grandmother divorced, and years later I believe he remarried a woman named Isabel(maiden name is unknown). He lived with her in Florence Massachusetts. I am looking for anyone related to Alexander, whether, its a sister, brother, cousin, and anyone else. I am also looking for photographs of him, as I have none and unfortunately was never able to meet him.

I am Ron Dussault Jr, which I am the son of Ronald George Dussault Sr. which is Alexander's son. I have 1 sister Tina Mattei, and 1 brother Kevin Dussault. I have tried asking my grandmother when she was alive about my grandfather, but she never wanted to speak about him, so I am unsure of why or what happened between them. I do know as for my father, he told me once that he considered Alexander as someone whom he didn't know anymore, meaning he was dead to him. This saddens me, because I am different I would love to know my heritage, and perhaps maybe when my father said that earlier in my life, he was just sad about what happened when he was young. But as I mentioned, anyone that could help me find out more information on Alexander Dussault I would love to know. I am curious on my family as I don't know any Dussault's other then from after my father, thats it. So please anyone that has some information or photo's or anything, please contact me at rgdtad05@aol.com (the 05 is a zero and a 5). Thanks in advance. I am hoping to hear from someone.

Would be grateful for any info on John/Jean Dussault/Desso b1799 of Schuyler Falls, Clinton Co, NY. He Married Mary Rock/Rocques about 1828. His sister may be Margaret Dussault b1802 who married Joseph Martineau. I'm wondering if their parents were Augustin Dusault or Pierre Victor Dussault & Marguerite Laure/Lord of St-Ours. Thanks.
Bob Foran - CT

Louise, I do not remember posting the above message but every thing becomes so far-reaching; I'll do some checking.
Louis Touchette, brother to Marie Touchette Regnier, was my great-grandfather. I know a lot about him. What would you like to know? Anything specific? Any and everything?
Louis was married twice. Close to death, he took his 16-yr-old son, Alda, back to live and be raised by Marie. Alda was epileptic and his seizures worsened over time until he checked himself into the State Colony for Epileptics. Marie's son, was with him when he checked himself in and was a frequent visitor. When Alda died, the Regnier Family brought him "home" for services and burial. If you think you want more information, please contact me direct. What I know is too lengthy for a message board.........Claudie

You mentioned Alexander Dussault's Daughter, Josephine, who married a Louis Touchette. Do you have any information on him? My great-grandfather, Louis Touchette was born in Canada (I don't know where) 3 Feb 1837, came to the U.S in 1847. I know nothing of him until he shows up in MN in 1884. I believe he may have been married more than once.
Can you help?

As Richard Dussault is the great-grandson of Raphael Dussault, Hyacinthe's brother......I am the great-grandson of Irenee...also Hyacinthe's brother. Richard has a lot of information about the family and I have some also. Glad to help if we can. I have been searching for Hyacinthe's and Emelie's date of death. Do you have those? Send me a e-mail with your address. Perhaps we all can help each other.
