Is is possible for Edward Coomes to be Jane Holmes (Georgie Christina Warfield) brother?
What history to you have on Lola Kinsey Coomes Dutrow? I would like to trace the history on my mother and since she was adopted, I know it may become difficult. I do have copies of the adoption papers. We may end up being cousins. Please respond

Thank you for the info. My mother was adopted and her mother's name was Lola Dutrow. My mother, Georgie Christina Warfield, her adopted name was born in June, 1926. Adoption papers list Lola Dutrow as mother and Oscar Holmes as father, who does not know that she was born. I now have a link on Lola. Thanks a million. If you have any additional info on Lola, please pass it this way.

I'm not sure that it is the same line of family. it could be. All I have is the information in my first message. My father had no contact with the man after the divorce. I've looked in Social Security and
the Military records. It said on my father's sister's birthcertificate that at the time of her birth he was in France (WWI).
Thanks for responding.

Dutro/Tottero/etc.

In the Maryland German Church Records, Vol. 4, Evangelical Lutheran Church Baptisms 1780-1811 Index,it lists our Dutro/w ancestors under "Dottera, Dodero, Dottere, Dotero, Dottro, Tottero, Totterer." Vol. 3 of the same series says Dutro/w see Dotterer (or something of the sort). Vol. 3 contains the earlier baptisms ( births)1742-1779 for the "Monacacy Lutheran Congregation and its successor, Evangelical Lutheran of Frederick" on Church Street, in Frederick (formerly Fredericktown), Frederick Co. (formerly Washington County and Prince Georges Co. before that),MD.
Unfortunately not even the foundation for the Church of the Monocacy or Monocacy Lutheran Church (as it was also called) can be found. It was served by travelling ministers who kept their own records, and when a record book was kept in the church, the minister might not have gotten back to the church to record events, as marriages and funerals ( some baptisms) were usually done at the home, or a public place other than the church. Some of these travelling ministers records survive and are listed in these volumns, but some were lost. These books were published by the Historical Society of Carroll County and are available at the Frederick Historical Society across Church Street from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick. Now to find the marriages and death records!
Nancy Purchase

Dutterer/Dudderer/Dutrow/Totterer

My ancestors, Tranberg/Dronenberg and Dutterer/Dudderer/Dutrow were from Fredrick, Mariland.
I have traced Frecrich Ambrosis Tranberg to the ship Winter Galley which came from Amsterdam around 1735. The name evolved to Dronenberg. The Dronenbergs and Dudderers married, knew each other and lived in and around Fredrick, Maryland. Mary Ann Madery Married Jacob Dronenberg. His son Henry married Eve Matilda Dutterer. Thier sons, two of my recent ancestors were brothers, one in the Confederate Calvery, ther other in the Yankee Calvery. They finaly lived in Missoury but lived at Tuscorara, MD as children. I found the house they lived in a field near Tuscorara by the Patomic an also found a letter dated before the civel war from a Dudderer. We are most probably related.

Dutrow Family

I am looking for the Dutrow family, although I am not sure if this is the correct spelling. I have a connection to a family who had three daughters Rose, Pansy and Crocus. I have found many Dutrow links in Frederick, MD, But I understand that Crocus died quite young so I haven't been able to find her anywhere.

Ditrow/Duttero/Tuttero/Etc.

I am related to Catharine/a Dutrow who married (George) Jacob Aye/Eh about 1780 probably in Frederick Maryland - lived in Frederick, Frederick Co., MD. I recently found the baptism of their daugter Maria Magdalena (Mary) witnessed by Georg and Catharina Tottero. Also baptism of Catharina, d/o Johannes and Catharina Tottero, b. 22 Mar. 1785, bp. 15 May 1785 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, of Frederick, Frederick Co., MD. That is the beautiful two spired church on Chruch Street in Frederick.
This leads me to believe Durtrow and Tottero may be the same surname. There are many spelling variations.
E-mail me at HGPurchase@aol.com if you feel we connect.
Nancy

I am looking for my grandfather's family
He was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia
around 1897. He came to Baltimore Maryland and married Lola Kinsey Coomes. They had two children, Charlotte Elizabeth born, 8-13-1918 and Edward Coomes born 12-27-22 (my father). They divorced sometime after 1922-23. He served in WWI and his occupation was listed as a "road builder". Thank you!
