William Eugene Duzan was a Mason in Oklahoma. He worked for Exxon Mobil for several years until he was injured which almost killed him in an explosion while at work (year unknown). As far as I know he always lived in the state of Oklhoma. Rhea was his wife until William Eugene Duzan passed away (year unknown) and was buried in Yale, Oklahoma. William Eugene Duzan and Rhea produced one child named Eugene Herbert Duzan who has also passed and buried in Yale, Oklahoma. William Eugene Duzan was married before Rhea to (name unknown). William Eugene Duzan and first wife produced one child, Ronald Duzan (middle name unknown). Ronald Duzan has also lived in the state of Oklahoma his whole life. Eugene Herbert Duzan produced one child with his second wife Rhea named William Rhea (pronouced "Ray") Duzan (me) who has also lived in the state of Oklahoma his whole life. He and his wife Nancy produced three children, David Rhea Duzan, William Herbert Duzan and Miranda Dawn Duzan. Ronald Duzan produced three of four children (number of children) unknown. He currently lives in Edmond, Oklahoma. All children of both Ronald Duzan and William Rhea Duzan are now grown with families of their own. This may give you more information because Duzan a name you don't hear much if not ever. Hopefully this bit of information will help you somehow with your family tree.

Hi, am looking for Sarah who married Samuel, lived in KY and died in Indiana. Both born in the 1790's. I have pictures of both as older parents/grandparents. Am looking for relatives. Pictures are tintypes and I have them on my computer and can Email them. Sarah has been called Busan/Buzan, the family really doesn't know, no relatives have been found under the Busan/Buzan names. I am hoping that Duzan is a match.

Recent investigation indicates that the Peter Dusan on the list of Acadians was really Pierre Doucet (probably junior,) originally from Chignecto, sent to Georgia, worked his way back north as far as New York with a group led by Michel Bourgeois, and finally to the West Indies (where most of the group fell quickly ill and died.) So it seems that he was a different person than the Peter Duzan from Harford Co., Maryland. This is according to Stephen White of the Center for Acadian Studies at the University of Moncton, who literally wrote the book on Acadian genealogy, and was kind enough to show me the appropriate records.

I will be glad to share any information I have on the Duzan family. Would you e-mail me your families names, birth dates, places of birth, death dates, places of death, burial locations, marrriage dates and places, and any other information you might have about you descendants or ancestors. With this information, hopefully, I can connect you to some of the family history I have collected. If the connection is made, I will share that complete line with you.

Stephen

Elizabeth Eubanke and Elizabeth Yokely are one and the same person. The marriage license is difficult to read and as is common with most records of the time there were many spelling errors. Check out the 1776 Harford Co., Maryland Census and you will find her living with her mother Mary. Family records indicate that Elizabeth was the daughter of William Mary (Murphy) Yokely. I don't know where William was when the 1776 Census was taken. Perhaps he was already dead or serving in the Revolutionary War. Mary and Elizabeth were living with a Murphy family when the census was taken. I'm at work right now and I writing this from memory, so I'll get you more details when I can. I also have Peter Elizabeth's exact dates of death.

PETER DUZAN OR DUSAN

My Grandmother was Dora Ann Duzan the daughter of George W. Duzan. Dora was born in Illinois in 1869. When she was 5 years old the family moved to Texas in a covered wagon. I have our line back to Peter Duzan who married Keziah Armstrong. This was evidently his second marriage as he has the followinf children.Jacob ?,John abt 1749,Alexander abt 1751, Elizabeth abt 1760, Abraham abt 1763, Peter Jr. abt 1765 (died abt 1824 Greenup Co. Ky.
Hezkiah abt 1767,
Ezekiah abt 1767, Ezekial abt 1770, Nathaniel abt 1771. There is a Peter Dusan listed with a wife and five children as Acadian exiles who landed in New York in 1756. I am trying to find these children's names to see if Peter Dusan and Peter Duzan are the same person.

Hi Dan;
Thank you for contacting me. I'm afraid my information is rather sketchy at best. I know that Elizabeth Yokely fits in there somewhere but I'm not sure how. I have Peter Duzan bn ABT 1724 and marrying Keziah Armstrong in 1777 in Maryland. Then I have Peter Duzan Jr. bn ABT 1765 And marrying Elizabeth Eubanke in 1790 in Mason Co. KY. Then I have a Peter Duzan bn 1823 in Greenup KY. and marrying Mary Ann Lord in 1842 in Indiana. Can you help get me straightened ou?
Thanks again,Deane

Thanks for the info. I had already looked at that census and the colonial census before I got back to you and wondered if that was it. So Elizabeth was the Wife of Peter Duzan Jr. I'm trying to see if Peter Duzan Sr. is the same as Peter Dusan who is listed as one of the Acadian Exiles. I checking with other people it looks like there was a mistake and either the name Doucet (Doo-say) or the name Toussaint (Too-San)was writen down by the person doing the registering as Dusa or Dusan which later emmerged as Duzan.Thanks again.
Deane Mc Gowen
Apple Valley, CA,
dmcgowen@charter.net
