Did your Ellen marry ? I would be interested to know about her Dunedin family to see if there were any links with my Bourke / Burke family. Often close family stood as sponsors at christenings.

No absolute proof yet but we think that Ann Maria's parents were John and Frances O'Dwyer (Dwyer) - the first Burke child was named Frances and her brother born a year later was named John (the christian name of both grandfathers),
