Do any of you know where young Walter Dyce came from (see census record below)?
I believe he eventually became known as a Shiels, not a Dyce. I assume his father was a Dyce and his mother a Shiels--but I have no idea who his parents were.
Jane Shiels' sister married R. B. Waddell--who was nephew to the Elizabeth Waddell who married Daniel Wilson, and whose kids married more Dyces. I hope to trace the entire 3-family loop.
There are two Shiels daughters missing from the census--
Jane and Ella. Jane turns up in Manitoba in 1906, however.
Perhaps Ella married a Dyce and died in childbirth, or shortly thereafter?
