Hi Dean
This is just going to be a short message for now, I have to read the book a little closer,
It is very interesting reading, there are alot
of names and dates, that are similiar. With
just the short amount of time that I have had the book I have noticed that the names that run in the family are carried down from generation to generation. Jacob is used alot, as well as Peter, Katharina,
Elisabeth and so on. Alot of the names that you mentioned are in the book, but........the dates you gave me do not match the names. You mentioned an Isaac Dyck b.15 Dec 1856 married second wife Elizabeth Hooge. I have an entry for an Issac Dyck b. 6 Aug 1816, died 4 Oct 1851, his second wife was Elisabeth Krahn. See how the names are similiar but the dates are different. The Issac in this book died before your Issac was born. I have to do some more reading. You also mentioned that Elizabeth remarried Johann Warkentine
after Issac's death. I have a reference to a
Judith Warkentin who married Franz Dyck in Oct 1878. So far that is the only referance I have found to the family name
Warkentin. But it is there, and perhaps Judith was some how related to Johann.
If you would like you can email me directly to my computer instead of going through this web site. my email is bsilk@rapidnet.net. This book has an inserted leaflet that explains the book and how it came to be. There is an address at the bottom, Iam thinking of writting to see if there is any other info on the Dyck family tree's. you may find this helpful. The address is The Dyck History Book Comittee
Box 1053, Winkler, Manitoba. R6W 4B1
The book was published in 1993 and I would like to know if there is any new info added. There are many Jacob's mentioned
in this book, I do believe that all people with the surname Dyck are related, its just a matter of where the connection is and how far down the lline *S* Do you mind if I ask where you live? I live in British Columbia.
Canada.
Until the next message.
