Brenda. You're right what a thrill!. I have a Jacob E. Dyck in my tree but I have almost no information on him personally. "My" Jacob E.'s father was Isaac Dyck b. 15 Dec 1856 Schoenberg Kortiza Russia, mother Katharina Esau b 10 Jun 1858 Kortiza Russia. He had 7 siblings. Elizabeth, Mary, Katarina, Isak b.16 Jul 1878, Helena b.4 Nov 1879, and another Katarina b.1882. The first Katarina died as an infant. I don't know where Jabob E. and Elizabeth were born, the others were born in Manitoba Canada. Katharina Esua died 1892. Isaac then remarried Elizabeth Hooge (who married Johann Warkentine head of the Mennonite church upon Isaac's death). Elizabeth and Isaac had 14 more children after their marriage, one of which was my grandfather Herman Louis Dyck b. 17 Apr 1900 and died 22 Oct 1988. My grandfather's siblings were Sally, Annie, John L., Peter, Susan, Sarah, Agnes, Justina, Wilhelm, Margaret, Peter C., Emma, and Lydia. This information I got from Lydia who lives still in Winkler Man. The names have been made contemporary and I'm not as yet sure what the real first names of some of them are yet. My Great Aunt Lydia mentioned a "Jake" the last time we spoke about a year ago. It's kind of early to tell, but we might be cousins. Please let me know if any of these other people are mentioned in this book of yours.
