Hello. I am currently researching the Dziaduck (Jaddock) family history. The name originates from the village of Hlubichok in present day Ukraine. It has also been spelled as Dziaduck in Canada or as Dziaduk (transliteration from Ukrainian). Other variations are as follows: Jaddock; Dziaduch; Dziadukh; Jaddick; Dziadyk. My great -grandfather Petro Dziaduck came from Hlubichok to Canada in 1906 with his family. His wife was Maria Wasylkiw and he had three children with him, Paul, Dora, and Antoshko. Antoshko passed away when they arrived in Canada in Winnipeg. They then settled in the Buchanan, Saskatchewan area on NW 23, 30, 6. Pete (Peter, Petro) remarried after his wife died around 1915 to Sofia Walchuk. A son John was born and they then moved to Rama Saskatchewan. A daughter was also born but was given up for adoption (?). (no info. on her). His second wife passed away and then he married Mydora Shuya who had grown children. Petro passed away in 1945 in Dauphin, MB.
If you have any information please reply to this board. Am also looking for relatives in Ukraine or elsewhere. I have no info. on Peter's parents in Ukraine or any possible siblings. He had 4 cousins in Canada, Nick Dziaduck, Alex (Hylko) Dziaduck, Wojtko (Walter) Dziaduck, and Pearl Kostersky.
