Sorry, don't get this. The largest single batch of Eacocks is in Herefordshire, somewhere round Colwall, and according to the IGI goes back to at least the 1790s. The Birmingham group may well be outliers of this. There is also a group in Suffolk which my wife comes from, and which I thought you did too, Roger? However, that goes back to at least the 1760s. This talk about the US line mostly stemming from Hereford in 1874 and you being related to it, are you saying that there is a close link between the Hereford and Suffolk lines in the early 19th century, despite both groups going back considerably further?

There is also one family in Essex c.1820; reckons they are outliers from the Suffolk group, but can't fit them in yet.

Anybody who wants a tree of the Suffolk group, please ask.
I have just discovered your correspondence with my son Roger .
I have found no connection with the Hereford family and my branch in Suffolk .Various spellings go back to the 1500's . Warren was born 1773 in Bacton Suffolk . He had 2 sons-Robert
(b) 1812 and Frederick (b) 1803 . The latter was a Cordwainer
and had 13 children , most dying young . Of these Joseph Elijah
emigrated to Lafayette , Indiana in 1870 & became a lawyer.
Robert , married 3 times , last to Mary Ann Brooks having 10
children . He lived in Hopton & was a veterinary surgeon . In 1870
his sons George J & John Middleton also settled in Lafayette
becoming a Federal Judge & Shoe merchant . In 1881, another son, Joseph Brooks ( a butcher ) emigrated to Kaufman, Texas.
Another son William Frost E may also have emigrated at the same time but returned in about 3 years( mystery here ),married
Sarah Fisher & settled at Mill Pond Farm in S. Lopham, Norfolk,
raising 9 children .My father was Harold Frank E . I was the only male of th next generation . We
are in touch with several descendants in the U S A .
I would appreciate a tree of the Suffolk family

I have little info on our family background. My grandfather, Charles Eacock, married Laura Belcher and lived in Independence, MO until they divorced. He then married Ruby, but all I know is that she took Eacock as her name. I don't know her maiden name. They lived in Branson, MO until he died.

He and Laura had 2 children, Gloria and Fred. Gloria has passed away, but Fred, my father is living.

Hi Jenna
Have you solved your problem with Gilbert William & Frank. I don't know if any of this information will help but it seems from my searches that Gilbert William had a brother Arthur Henry born 1884 and 1882 respectively in Colwall of Thomas and Mary Willoughby (Thomas' parents were William and Elizabeth Nash). Both Gilbert and Arthur are living in Darton Yorkshire in the 1901 Census, Gilbert is listed as a Colliery Horse Driver Underground and Arthur as a Horseman on a farm. Have no Frank Eacock on my research so maybe you could fill me in there. Any information you can exchange would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
Cathy

I am the granddaughter of Albert Eacock who also had a brother called Arthur, although this Arthur was a bus driver. I believe that they used to live in Smethwick, Birmingham. I am also of the belief that my father Frank Douglas Eacock was under the impression that he had relations who owned a butcher's shop in Worcestershire.

I have just started doing our family tree and stumbled across this web site. I am the daughter of Richard Eacock, son of Arthur Frank Eacock who I know had a brother called Albert. Arthur used to help Albert in his butcher's shop for quite a few years and they where, I think, quite close. If this is the same Albert you mention I would love any information on the Eacock's as I'm a bit of a novice at this but would love to find out as much as possible.

Hi Roger, My name is Julie and i am from England. I have just started using the internet and whilst playing around the web sites I came across yours. I believe we may be related. My grandmother was Lillian May Eacock born in Herefordshire. Some time ago I traced her family tree and went right back to the early 1800's If your father is interested I will see if I can find my research material. I do remember that my Great Grandfather William Eacock died during the first World War and is buried in Galipoli. I had letters from the Army confirming that. I have looked at parish records and the Eacocks seem to originate from Welland in Malvern or Hanley Swan. Please feel free to email me if I can help with your search.

Eacock Family Name

Susan,
Thanks for replying to my message and my apologies for not responding sooner.

I would be interested in any Eacock history you can share, both current and past. The Eacock name, while somewhat rare, really has two major components to it. One is based in the UK and the other in the US. I've been focusing my recent work on assembling the entire US tree. My father is working on the UK portion. By the way I am originally from Lexington, Massachusetts.

Based upon what I have found so far is that the majority of the US Eacock's originated with two brothers, George and Joseph, who immigrated to Indiana from Hereford England around 1874. Both were lawyers in Ind and one eventually became a judge. My Great grandfather Robert was their brother.

Being that you are from Oklahoma, your grandfather was probably Robert, son of either George or Joseph, and your grandmother was Imogene. Am I right??

I would really look forward to any information you could share. I can be reached at raeacock@sympatico.ca or 905-895-7305

Thanks
Roger Eacock
