Thanks so much for your help. The person is John David Heidt, 1791-1833. His wife was Sarah Thomas, who is from South Carolina. I found a book (about the Barrington family, which a child of John and Sara married into)online last night which said that John David Heidt and his wife were both originally from South Carolina, and then moved to Twiggs County Georgia, where all their children were born. John died fairly early in Ga, and his wife moved to Alabama and died there in 1860-ish. John David Heidt was my ggggrandfather. His son, was Wylie Hampton Heidt, the father of Francis Bartow Heidt, who was my g'father's (Emmett Henry Heidt) father. So, I searched for John David using South Carolina, and was unable to come up with anything.

There are many member-submitted trees that contain John David Heidt--but they all tie him to James Eaddy and Mary Drake--a mystery to me.
