some Eades history that I know

Hello, as you can see I too am an Eades. My father Joseph William Eades emigrated to Canada from Ireland during the 1950's. Some of his relatives in Ireland did an extensive family tree. They were able to trace their family back to the 1700s in Ireland where it seems that the first Irish Eades came to Ireland from somewhere in Northern England, probably with Cromwell. There is an Eadestown in Ireland, but when I uncle went to find it, it is really just a crossroads with a small parish church with a particularly surly and suspicious parish priest. He has also since found some references to the Eades name in Ireland well prior to 1700 (middles ages I think?) that he was surprised about.

If any of this sounds like it may intersect with your family history, I would be happy to pass on more detailed information or pass you on to family members with more information.

Cheers,

valerie
