Eades m. Wright in Virginia

I'm searching for information about an Eades daughter that married a Wright in Virginia, around the 1860s or 70s. Their daughter, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Wright is my g.grandmother. I believe their family was settled in the Lynchburg, Bedford Co, Rockbridge Co. areas.

Lizzie Wright married John Douglas Moose; their son is named Tyree Wright Moose, which means there could also be a tie between the Eades family and the Tyrees of Campbell Co., VA.

Any information you have on Lizzie Wright's mother is greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Whitney Moose, WLM647@aol.com

I'm looking for information on any "EADES" living in Kent county at the end of the 1800's.
I am particularly intersted in learning about the following individuals.

His name is Reginald Albert Eades . He was born on Aug. 20,1913 in Ramsgate, Kent County, England.

His father was William Eades, and was a baker with a business in Gillingham around 1927. His mother was Ivy Eades
(nee Orchard).

William and Ivy divorced while Reginald was quite young and the family was split up. Reginald had brothers and sisters, but I can't recall their names.
Searching for Ben Eades

I am searching for my 1st cousin twice removed, Ben Eades, who is/was a son of Hardie & Georgia Eades. Georgia was my great-aunt, brother to my great-grandfather, Jesse Ryse/Rice Williams. The family originated out of the Slaughters, KY area in Webster/Hopkins counties in Kentucky. Some of the family members came across the river to Evansville, IN; the rest, according to what I cannot find, appear to have dropped from the radar. Ben also has sisters: Helen Sommers, Mabel West, Ruby Cain, and Betty Gipson/Gibson. Anyone who may know this family or is a part of it is welcome and encouraged to email me at nmemorydad43003@yahoo.com. I have a thousand and one questions I'd like help getting answers to. Thanks so much!

P.S. According to Georgia's death notice from the funeral home in 1961, Ben was last known to be the St. Louis, MO area.

some Eades history that I know

Hello, as you can see I too am an Eades. My father Joseph William Eades emigrated to Canada from Ireland during the 1950's. Some of his relatives in Ireland did an extensive family tree. They were able to trace their family back to the 1700s in Ireland where it seems that the first Irish Eades came to Ireland from somewhere in Northern England, probably with Cromwell. There is an Eadestown in Ireland, but when I uncle went to find it, it is really just a crossroads with a small parish church with a particularly surly and suspicious parish priest. He has also since found some references to the Eades name in Ireland well prior to 1700 (middles ages I think?) that he was surprised about.

If any of this sounds like it may intersect with your family history, I would be happy to pass on more detailed information or pass you on to family members with more information.

Cheers,

valerie

Not sure if this relates to me, but hope someone else can connect this man with a family: John Eades immigrated to America in 1773, permanent #2355228, source publication code-1222, pg. 85, English Convicts in Colonial America, Vol 1: Middlesex 1617-1775, by Peter Wilson Coldham. I'm researching my Eades/Eads and the farthest back I've gone so far is my gggrandfather John Eades who married Mary "Polly" Massey in 1822 in N.C. His father was supposed to be another John Eades, which is how I found this immigration record, but so far I've found no documentation to link this man or anyone else before abt. 1800 to my Eades/Eads line. I will share what I have and hope someone can help...

I am trying to confirm family connections of my G.G.Grandmother, Ann Maria Eades b.1829. I know her father was John b.1786 in Chewton Mendip, there are also possible siblings of hers, James, John, Charles and Martha, all also born in Chewton Mendip. Ann Maria worked in the Somerset Lunatic Asylum as a Laundress, also listed is Martha Eades b.1791 who I'm guessing is her Mother. Any thoughts anyone? Ann married John Jenkins in 1857.

My GGGrandmother's name is said to be Letta Eads. She was Born abt 1829 - 1830 in North Carolina. She was believed to be 1/2 Blackfoot Indian. I am looking for links to her lineage. There was an un-named female child born to a William Eads in Stokes Co., NC abt 1829-1830. I am trying to find my connection to my Native American lineage.

Looking for info on John Eades, b. abt 1730-40, d. 1795 Oglethorpe Co., GA, and his wife, Priscillar ? . Interested in them, particularly before they came to GA from Albemarle Co., VA. Who was John's father? Was it Joseph, Abraham, or Jacob who are said to be brothers (who were in Albemarle & Amherst Co.s, VA)? When did John marry Priscillar and what was her maiden name? They may also have been in Amherst Co., VA, or nearby counties. An Abraham and his wife, Sarah, were in GA in the late 1700's but sold their land in Wilkes Co. (in that part that later became Oglethorpe) and are thought to have gone back to VA. Anyone have info on them? Would appreciate any info known. Thanks.

Eades Indian connection

Our family knows that our ancester last name Hutton from Indiana was American Indian. The family story was that the Indian connection was his mother- Julia Ann Eades born in 1841 or 2 in northern KY or Madison IN. Her father was Thomas Eads or Eades who married Mary Dunn in Jefferson Co IN on 10/18 1839. Thomas was born in North Carolina around 1813-14. Any info about the Eades Indian connection NC, KY or Indiana would be very helpful- there are Eades on the Oklahoma Cherokee rolls but the name doesn't apear on the Eastern rolls.

NICHOLAS EADES in Southold L.I., NY 1670s

Does anyone know of the following Nicholas Eades from a quote in Southold(NY)Town Records: "Nicholas Eades was a schoolmaster - came to Southold from Southampton about 1670, He had a lot on Town Street, near the corner of Main Street and the road leading to Oysterponds. He was sent in 1673, by Col. Morris and Nath'l Sylvester to New York to take messages to the Colonial authorities. In 1682 he sold his house and lands in Southold to Edward Griffin, Jun., and probably removed to Newtown." I would especially like to know if he had any children, particularly by the names of Sarah or Abigail.

I am almost certain it would have been in NY, upstate, possibly in or around Saratoga County.
I am hoping to learn where the wedding took place and what the relationship was to the witnesses.

Eades/Eads and cancer link in ancestry?

I'm trying to find out if anyone researching these surnames has noticed cancer in their ancestry...I have reason to know that certain types of cancers (one type of colon cancer)...are caused by genetic problem, as my brother who has recently turned 54 has been diagnosed and successfully treated for that kind of colon cancer. He's been through genetics testing and has learned that having the genetic mutation which caused his cancer, also seems to mean that his siblings and offspring are at greatly increased risk of developing colon cancer, maybe other types. We've got at least 10 ancestors or current relatives who have either died from cancer, or had it and been successfully treated (that we know of).

Thomas EADES migrated from MO to Hempstead Co. AR about 1825

Thomas Eades & family left Missouri about 1825 to go to the Austin Colony of Texas with the Mousers, Bests, Cantleys, and Jones families. However, this group stopped instead at Hempstead County in southwestern Arkansas. In the 1830 Heads of Household tax list, there is a Mathias Eades, Thomas Eades, and John L.Eads. By about 1855, Benjamin Eads married Elizabeth Cox (who's in my line). The Mousers, Jones, Cantleys and Best families intermarried quite a lot and are well known in early southwestern AR. My Coxes also married into these families there. I'm looking to learn more about these Eads, as well as the others mentioned. Some eventually appear to have gone on to Texas.
