Yes, I am finding that the Eads/Eades/Edds were slippery folks.
I have since found that my Granville is William Granville Eads, b. 1851, md. Syntha Jane (Wilson). His parents were William and Elizabeth (Tarter) Eads. All in Russell, Casey and Pulaski counties, KY. They all moved around a lot. Granville lived in Pike Co., IN at one time since that is where his son General Wite Eades was born, then they moved back to KY. Have no clue about the Pike Co. connection other than there are some Eads/Eades there, too. Never made any links, however.
I also know that names were traded & passed around among the brothers, uncles & sons. So, Granvel/Granville could indicate a relationship as you suggest. One possibiloity is that my William, father of my Granville, was a brother/cousin/etc. to your Granvel - to help the dates match up.
There would seem to be a generation shift based on our dates comparisons. But many married young & had lots of kids so "generations" don't always work out either.
And, somehow your name Shryer rings a bell, but it rings the bell as "Shroyer". I'll have to dig in my "extra" stuff about that. Have not run across the name Ishom, or Sowders.
I'll add this info to my "watch for" list & if I see any possibilities turn up or other info that may help you, I'll let you know.
Thanks for the reply.
