Alicia C. Eager was my great grandmother, born in San Francisco around 1870. Her parents may have emigrated for Australia, but the census shows them as born in Ireland. Alicia had a sister, Ellen, born in Australia, that may have died before the next census. Rose, your great Grandmother lived with your grandfather, in Santa Clara during the 1920 census. Alicia married James Horrigan from Ireland around 1890. They had 4 children, two survived. After the 1906 earthquake, they changed their last name to Harrigan. They lived in San Francisco, Santa Rosa and San Jose. They owned a bar/grocery/liquor store on Broadway.I did some research and it looks like your mother went to the same school, Norte Dame in San Jose that my sister went to, although 40 years later. Your grandfather may have also been Bobby Eager and did some reporting for the Mercury News. I'm originally from San Jose/Milpitas and reside in Petaluma. Please contact me if you need more info. I'd love to see pictures.
