My father was originally from Grand Coteau/Opelousas area as well. I am not sure of when they moved to Lafayette but most who are left is in Lafayette. His mother's name was Gladys Murray, she was also from the same place. I'm not sure on his father's name because my father died while I was young and his father died before I was born. But I do know that it was a lady in Grand Coteau who happened to be mayor some years ago which is an Eaglin who was a couisin to my father. My father had about 11 sibling but only about 3 are living. Two moved to Texas ( I don't know exactly when), Beaumount I believe. I am also trying to find out who are my relatives. I know there are a few Eaglins here in Houston but I don't know if we are related or not. It would be good to know. Maybe we could all get together and but a big tree together.
