I have been researching my family line of Thau. I am trying to trace them back to Germany. Twila was actually married to my Uncle, Oscar Thau. His family lived in Pennsylvania and Maryland. I also know that they are related to a Thau line in Brooklyn New York. Ant information that you may have to share would be greatly appreciated.

Letitia Eagon b about 1800

Hi,
I am researching a mystery man called Demont F Morenzy who's parents were William Morenzy and Letitia Eagon.
This man was very well educated in England and went to USA to study to be a physician.
There are no records of any persons with either name in UK.

His name may be a corruption of De Montmorency.

Does any one know of a Letitia Eagon who married a William circa 1825, perhaps in Ireland.
I have seached the De Montmorency family in Kilkenny but nothing found as yet.
The names seem Irish, but he could easily have been educated in England if his parents were very wealthy. He learned latin Greek and Hebrew, not your usual subjects.

With this enquiry I am looking for Letitia. Her son Demont was born 1832.

Cheers
M Head

Hi, Patty,

This is fascinating! Here's what I have on our Boulier line:

Joseph Sauvage married Adelaide (Adelle) Girard in France and came to the US in 1838. They settled in Illinois. Their oldest child was Mary Josephine (my great great grandmother) who married Rene (Henry) Boulier. They had about 8 children - Alexander (my great grandfather), Mary, Joseph, Isabella, Adelaide, Josephine, Victoria, and Anna.

Joseph married Louisa Hoshor. Their children were Leslie, John Stanhope, Lizzie, Mary Irene, and Jessie Winford.

I have Leslie (dob 26 Aug 1881, d Nov 1961) marrying Maybelle (last name?). Their children were Joseph, Jane Louisa, and Vera. I didn't know about Lois. When was she born?

I have a booklet that Alexander Boulier wrote about his parents that I would be happy to send you. I have several copies. I also have an article about Joseph Boulier. What do you have on our line?

All the best,

True

I wanted to get in touch with you and ask what you have on the parents Rene and Mary Boulier? I am from Leslie Boulier he was my great grandfather. I get confused without looking if he is the child of Rene and Mary or his father I think was Joseph Boulier. I do have a copy of the letter someone wrote about the family. I think it was your relative. Please let me know more about all of you. Where do you live etc. My grandmother was Jane Louisa Boulier of Cozad Nebraska and she was married to Lloyd Inslee also of Cozad. You or family member may have even met her she tried to go to family outings andreunions. Her sisters were Lois Carlson and Vera Ling. Vera resided in Cozad most of her life then moved to Texas. They have all passed on now.
Patty

Hi, John,

Thanks for this info - yes, I would like to learn more about the Sauvage line. My uncle told me that one Sauvage family emigrated to Ireland from Le Mons, France but I haven't been able to find anything on them.

Mary Josephine was the eldest daughter of Joseph and Adelaide Sauvage. She was born in Le Mons on May 5, 1825 and emigrated with her parents to Woodford County, IL around 1839-40 via New Orleans. She married Rene Boulier who had emigrated from La Muehrt a Musson (SP?), France in 1837. Everyone called him Henry because they couldn't pronounce his name.

I think they had about 10 children - one was Alexander - my great grandfather. The Boulier's settled in Nebraska from Illinois.

I have a wonderful little booklet that was written by Alexander about his parents. There is an interesting section about the Sauvages. I have several copies so I would be happy to send you one.

True

Mary Eagon was a daughter of Jesse Eagon and Elizabeth Morris. Jesse was a son of Barnet Eagon and Hannah Wood. Elizabeth was a daughter of John Franklin Morris and Rebecca ____. Also I believe that Mary Eagon was born in Ohio, not Missouri.

Twila Lewis Thau

None of my relatives ever worked for Oscar. However, my father may have had Oscar do accounting for our lumber mill. I know he did some when I was a sophomore in high school in 1965. Maybe that's how my mother met him (through my dad), & thereby introduced him to Twila. I remember her telling me several times that she was the one who introduced him. She was never a secretary. She was a music teacher in public schools until she married my dad in 1936. She did not work afterwards until some volunteer work with the Girl Scouts when I was one. Everyone always remembers the red lamp. Even my older sister mentioned it last Christmas. I am an antique dealer now & have opportunity to buy many lamps. I have a smaller similar red one. I have a small packet of Oscar's photos that was in Twila's estate. I took them since I am this family line's only genealogist & I didn't want them to be discarded, which they were going to be. When I find them, I will let you know & you can send me your address so I can mail them to you. Jo

I always thought Oscar was from Philadelphia for some reason. I was a kid when he married Twila. My parents introduced them. Say, was it your mom that got Oscar's big antique red gone with the wind lamp that had belonged to his parents ? My mom tried to buy it from whoever inherited it, but I knew her offer was too little. I always liked Oscar. He & Twila would play bridge with my parents, Mabel & Norman (Mike) Mikalson. Jo

Hi Richard,

You and I are related in several different ways through the Eagons, Ankroms, and Houses. Samuel House and Cassandra Eagon had a son John, who is my gggg-grandfather (you are descended from his sister Cassandra). These are ancestors of my paternal grandmother's father John Forest House. Coincidentally, on my grandmother's MOTHER's side, we are also related through the Ankroms: my grandma's mother Agnes Odessa Ankrom was a sister to your ancestor Della Viola Ankrom. Seems my great-grandparents were actually fourth cousins - thanks to the Houses and Ankroms both having descended from the Eagons. Kinda makes your head spin, but fun to think on.

Not sure whether I have any new info for you, but check my tree at www.foutsfamily.net. Let me know if I can help. Best wishes,
Todd Fouts
The Thau family was from Baltimore. Oscar was one of two children. His sister Kathryn was my mother's mother. My mother does have the lamp. It is one of my favorite. It had originally been a gift to my greatgrandmother, Annie Jenkins, from her husband, Frank Thau. It is a family treasure. Upon talking with my mother she remembered Twila and Oscar being introduced by one of his secretaries at his accounting office. Did your mother work for Oscar? My mom thought his sectretary was a niece of Twila's.

Kathleen
