Yeah Ruth was their daughter. They lived in genessee County, Michigan (Flint)....John and bertha were from Indiana. Bertha is my Great aunt...She was bertha Lambert, born in Wabash, Indiana. Her parents moved from where I live now in Montgomery County, Ohio (Dayton area) after my great grndmothe, Milda Alice Lambert, was born, to Wabash. Bertha was the second child of 6. Did you see her wedding day pic on my family tree on here?
Her parents were Alonzo Edward Lambert and Mary Elizabeth Davenport. I also have a picture of their graves in Wabash at the Quaker Cemetery. Where do you live? Did you mother know Bertha? My mother said she was told Bertha used to come visit her but was too young to remember. She said everyone seemed to like Bertha from the way they talked about her-like she was their favorite or something... But she doesnt remember her. My mother was in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the time. So what do you know about John and Bertha?

Cindy;
I have also been trying to find any documents to prove that we have native american ancestry. Unfortunately they did not seem to keep very good records back then. I did find a Fields (Grandma Pugh's maiden name)that married a native american women.
I would be willing to share anything I might have with you. I have quite a few pictures of Grandma Pugh and her children taken around the 70s in Brownsville, Oregon.
If you go to WorldVitalRecords.com and punch in the names (or just the last name) you can view the old Brownsville (Oregon) Timesand Heppner Gazette (Boardman, Oregon) where grandpa Pugh's sister Laura Alice (married names Bash, Yancey, Agee) newspaper online. Many of the newspapers have free access.
Beverly.Pugh@oregonstate.edu

That's where they lived the last time I spoke to Loma, June, '01, just before I moved to New Mexico.
She was my sister-in-law, through her half brother. I loved her deearly.
Thanks for replying. I didn't know if you had this information of her passing away.

My great grandmother was Mary Jane Eagy. Her mother Jane Brown McCorkle died in childbirth with Mary Jane on Nov 1, 1855 in Iowa. The early 1900 Linn County Oregon census list her mother as being born in Indiana. Her father was born July 24, 1829 and died July 3, 1891 in Linn County, Oregon. He remarried to Sarah Jane Smith and had a daughter named Martha Elizabeth Eagy (Kemp). Do you have other information on this line of Eagy family?

I see from your family tree that you may be related to my great grandmother Mary Jane Eagy. I have copies of her two marriages in Linn County, Oregon. She also divoriced Alfred Hedrick (they were married in Iowa and had one daughter Elma Maud Hedrick (Huffman). She had 6 children with my great grandfather. She remarried a man named Reed somewhere between 1900 and 1910. No information is available on this marriage. She did not even record in the family Bible she kept. She then married Samuel Charles Baker in Feb 1914. He died in 1930. She died in Sept 1933 in Pendleton, Umatilla County, Oregon. All of her children with William Henry Pugh are deceased now. I do not have any information on their children but I am corresponding with one of Laura Alice's grandsons who live in Washinton.

Eagy Family History

To Jessica Eagy,
I saw your posting of two messages about your parents, grandfather and great
grandfather. My great grandmother was Mary Jane Eagy, first daughter of
Washington Eagy and Jane Brown McCorkle (she died in child birth and he
remarried to Sarah Smith). Washington had three brothers- Charles E. Eagy
was your ancestor- he was born Sept. 9, 1831 in West Bethlehem Township,
Washington Co., Pennsylvania, he died Jan. 30, 1871 in Adams, Ind. His
second wife was Martha E. Banta Snider whom he married on Nov. 20, 1858 in
Rush Co., Indiana (Rushville). One of his children was William Herbert
Eagy, born March 27, 1860 in Ruch Co., Indiana, he died in March 1945 in
Albany, Oregon. His wife was Anna Henrietta Johnson, born Feb. 15, 1856 in
Minnesota, she died Dec. 29, 1932 in Linn Co., Oregon, they were married on
March 29, 1888 in Indiana. One of their two children was Lawrence Eagy,
born Sept. 10, 1890, died Oct. 31, 1929, he married Della Anna McNeil on
Nov. 25, 1914 here in Oregon and one of their three children was William
Lyle Eagy, born Oct. 26, 1918 who married Dorene Githens. I believe that
they are your grandparents. I have futher information on the Eagy family,
and a brief history of the Eagy Family can be found on my personal web page
at www.open.org/glennab. My great great grandfather Washington Eagy always
told his daughter and her family that he was descended from the Indian
Princess Pocahantas and John Rolfe, and I believe that I have traced the
genealogy back to them, though not 100 percent positive. If you would like
any more information, please let me know at glennab@open.org.
