Proving Daniel's "service" during the Revolutionary War may be difficult. I know of no records which document actual "service". He was listed a soldier in Capt. Thomas West's Militia Company and was fined 25 pds at a Fairfax Co. Military Court Martial on 29 Oct 1776 for not appearing at Muster on 5 occasions that year. He was also fined 10 pds for not appearing when called for an Alarm on July 15 and July 22, 1776. ["Some Fairfax Couty Participants in the American Revolution", v.1, by Edith Moore Sprouse, 1991]
Daniel was indeed a methodist minister, removing to Newberry District SC with the first group of settlers to that District where he was the first preacher at the Beaverdam and Saluda settlement.

>Has anyone worked on proving Daniel Earp's Revolutionary War service? He was also supposedly a Methodist minister.
