Eason Family Lineage VA to NC

I am an Eason of African-American decent whom family was born and raised in Gates County, North Carolina. We are from Sunbury, which was called Hunter’s Mill Township. I am searching the Caucasians Eason lineage trying to trace the family of Eason’s that my ancestors was part of.
In tracing the Eason’s from Nansemond, Va., I find that there is a William Eason missing. There had to been a William born between 1650 and 1697. Why? The William born 1650 would have been 47 years old when his son William was born in 1696-97. That just doesn’t seem correct.
Also I am confused about Isaac Eason b.1731 being the son of George Jr., who is the son of George Sr., died 1774. George Jr., would have been only 4 or 5 years old.
Somebody help me out.
