Olin, Jones County, Iowa

Saw many years ago on these threads posts for this county. My moms side is Easterly, with 36 of them I know about buried at the Olin Cemetery. My question is their anyone related to this line of the family and if so which ancestor from that area?

Most of our ancestors from Olin are buried at the cemetery there. They are listed on findagrave.com

I am sorry that I do not know anything about luther`s descendants right now. But I know a lot of his neices and nephews, and will try to find out more. I am the son of Bobby dewel Easterly. My name is Bobby dale easterly. My dad is the son of Cordell Easterly. Cordell was married to Audrey Pennycuff, There children are.

Of these children C.L. died at childbirth. Of the children that Audrey had with Cordell. Ezra, Samuel,and Jewel has passed away. I am just starting to work on this family history project and am not very good with computers. I am going to try to pry information from my aunts and uncles and will get back to you.

Do you recognize any of these names of children of Luthers in this obituary?

From Luthers daughters obituary,he has a son named,Doyle Easterly ,S.L. Easterly and one deceased named Dallas Easterly .

Funeral services were conducted April 20,2005 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home,for Marie Easterly Stults, 76, of Crossville,TN. who passed away April 18, 2005.
Burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Charles Barnes officiated.
Mrs. Stults was born Feb. 24, 1929 in Moodyville in Pickett County,TN., the daughter of Luther and Eva Smith Easterly.
She was retired from Kroger.
Survivors include husband, Bobby Stults; sons, Carl Smith, Clay Smith and Ray Smith; daughters, Sandra Pugh, Linda Boston and Brenda Rimmer; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ben Smith, Doyle Easterly and S.L. Easterly; and sister, Lois Rogers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dallas Easterly; and granddaughter, Carla (Biddie) Rimmer.
Pallbearers were her nephews, Michael Rimmer and Jerry Ray Smith; sons, Carl Smith and Kenny Randolph; son-in-law, Milo Boston; and grandson, Justin Swallows.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

I know this is a little late. But Luther is the brother of Cordell. Cordell doesn`t have any children named luther. I know all of the children of Cordell and Audrey because He is my Grandpa

My Easterly's started in Herkimer, New York in abt 1831 then to Minnisota, then to california possibly. My great grandmoter was Della Easerly (born 28 Dec 1869 in Missouri) her father was Jacob Easterly (born 7 may 1834 in New York) I don't know where or when my Great Grandmother died because she divorces My G Grandfather and moved away. He was living in Around Death Valley at the time. It seems to be a dead end for me.

I have just started researching my late husbands family. His mother was Evie Easterly b. about 1910, died 1960 in Cincinnati, Ohio, parents were Arthur Easterly b.1885, d.1969 in Cin., Ohio. Evie's mother was named Lula b. 1891, d. 1975 in Cin., Ohio, do not know her maiden name.
Arthur's parents were William R. Easterly, and Martha Newell of Ky. Any information on this family or a maiden name for Lula would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mitzi

I had the mother wrong on the previous post it should've been Eva Jane Smith,that married Luther Easterly.
Does anybody have any information on Luther Easterly born, I think in Pickett Co.,TN. married Eva Jane Smith,born abt. July 1893-died abt.1947,she was the daughter of James Smith and Louisa Reagan.
