EASTLAND, Margaret June - Passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Thursday November 5th at the age of 65. Loving wife to Rodney. Devoted mother to Julie (Andy Barker) and Joel (Kristin). Grandma to Aiden and Ava. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Sunday November 7, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at NIAGARA FUNERAL HOME 5647 Main Street. In keeping with Margaret's personal wishes cremation to take place with Private Interment. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, November 10th at Grace Gospel Church at 11 a.m. Donations to the Grace Gospel Church Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Niagara Funeral Home 5647 Main Street.

EASTLAND, Thomas George Jr.

Tom passed away in Salmon Arm, British Columbia on January 13, 2009 at the age of 57 years.

Tom is survived by two daughters Jessie-Anne Fiddler (Randy) and Dallas Tuckwood (Darcy) and two grandchildren Isaiah and Olivia Fiddler-Cardinal. He is also survived by his mother Eleanor Shuttleworth (Harry), sister Barbara Engels (Fred), brothers Richard (Barb) and Clay (Karen) as well as many adoring nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Thomas Sr. and sister Gwen.

A family service will be held in Leduc. Memorial donations in Tom's name may be made to the Mustard Seed Church, Box 1842, Main Post Office, Edmonton, AB T5J 2P

Parents of William Harvey b. 1862 in Texas or Alabama, died 11/17/1920 in Marion, Guadalupe County, Texas. Alice Eastland's birthplace listed (on William's death certificate) as South Carolina. I figure her owner was from that area before migrating to Texas. I'm throwing a line out here and guessing she may have been born late 1830's, early 1840's. Any info about Eastland Family in Marion, Guadalupe Co. Texas, (white and black), please contact me.

Hi there, I have just read your message about Eastland genealogy.
I have a greatx2 uncle Richard Eastland who came from London to Oaklahoma at the beginning of the 1900's and am looking for any descendants.

I am seeking information on John Nathaniel Hopkins and Penina A E (King) Hopkins who were married 12/16/1878 in Lincoln County, TN. Penina A E King's father is Benjamin T King.
John and Penina are on the 1880 Lincoln County, TN census a few doors from Thomas B Eastland and Florinda (Hopkins) Eastland.

Nathaniel EASTLAND

Looking for descendants of Nathaniel Eastland and Amelia Eastland (nee Shackell).

Nathaniel emigrated to America from England late 1840s early 1850s with his wife and two young children Nathaniel John Eastland(b1845) and Edwin Charles Cornelius Eastland (b1846).

They can be found on the 1850 Unites States census in the town of Greenbush Rensselaer New York.

Sadly Amelia died in 1854 and Nathaniel after remarrying Alecia Dugdale in 1854 died in 1855.

What happened to Nathniel jun and Charles. Does anyone know or could put me on the right track?

Hi Toni,
It is wonderful to hear from you. Your dad and I were in junior high when we met. He was the greatest guy I had ever met. He was a gentleman and loving. We were in love as much as young teenagers could be.

I was sure he was my soul mate. I loved how he respected me and how he was so caring and gentle and at the same time very adventurous and so much fun to be around.

It wasn't easy because I was a home grown Utahn and he was a new comer from Texas. We had so much in common and most people just couldn't understand that - including my parents.

At Christmas he gave me a string of pearls that I know he had to save quite a while to but. It was in a pink velvet box shaped like an oyster shell. I still have it in my cedar chest.

We were separated when he moved to Idaho. We wrote for a long time...and then somehow went our separate ways. I thought of him so often. I had dreams of being with him almost every night. Time passed and we both led separate lives. So many times I looked him up on the internet but didn't go any further. When his obituary came up - I cried and felt a loss that I didn't expect.

I would like to know more about his life. Would you email me directly? My email address is rraf2@comcast.net. I am still in Utah. I have a couple photos I will send if you would like them.

Hi, I'm Haden's youngest daughter. I was very suprised to see someone who thought so much of my dad. I miss him so much, my life will never be the same. My dad was a wonderful father and especially grandfather. I would love to hear from you and hear some of your old stories.

I don't have a death date for John. Please please tell me where the 1728 came from! I don't have a birth date either, but John was of age in 1685 because he witnessed a will in October of that year.

You've certainly done your homework, Virginia! The only one of the children of this marriage that I have traced is William H., the eldest. He married Harriet Hunter in Lauderdale Co., MS 9-5-1864. In 1880 they were living in Newton Co. and after that in Lauderdale Co., MS. Hattie died in 1916 and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery. William H. predeceased her. Their kids were Olivia, Mackie, Howard H. and John B.

Patricia A. Eastland, 80, a Ferndale resident for 48 years, died Saturday, April 1, 2006, in Warren. She was born Aug. 28, 1925, in Detroit.

Mrs. Eastland had two master’s degrees and was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa sorority. She was a Detroit teacher.

Surviving are many caring friends.

Edward McDougall Eastland was a retired research chemist. He worked for Rainer Beer Distillers, Bechtel Corp. and most recently the U.S. Treasury Department in the Alcohol, Tobacco and Tax Division.

Mr. Eastland died June 2 at home at 76.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. this Saturday at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in San Rafael.

Mr. Eastland was born in Brooklyn and lived in San Rafael.

He graduated from the University of Washington.

During World War II, he served in the 7th Regiment of the National Guard and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.

His memberships included the United States Chess Federation and the Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Stamp collecting was among his activities.

Mr. Eastland is survived by his wife, Cleo Eastland of San Rafael; a son, Roger Eastland of Petaluma; two daughters, Candace Fraser of San Rafael and Betsy Kahan of Nevada; and six grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to Hospice of Marin, 150 Nellen Ave., Corte Madera 94925-1133.

I was sadden to read that Butch had passed. I found the obituary as I was searching for him on the internet. I cried as I read the words. I had hoped to make contact with a very special person in my life. I knew Butch when we were young and he lived in Utah. I truly loved him. We spent many many hours together and had great conversations over the years that he was in Utah. He was a remarkable person and a true gentleman. I thought about him often and wondered how his life had unfolded. We kept contact for a while after he moved away and then we each went our separate ways. I know that Butch was a great person and that he would be a great father and grandfather. Although the family will not know of me, and this messages arrives very late, I send my most sincere sympathy.

Living in Garfield Co., Colorado in 1900 was Mamie P. Eastland who was born in Texas in Dec. 1874. She was working in a jewelry store. She returns married 6 years. Living with her is a daughter, Ethel M. Eastland, born in Texas in October 1894, and a lodger, Parke G. Trowbridge.

Anybody have an idea who her husband was?

Yes, I know the problem. An index is a wonderful thing, but if the spelling is off by a single letter, you are in big trouble if using the computer, unless it allows for ** wild** symbols.

Thank you, Cathy. I was glad to see that you got the reading of "Cudebec." I need to recheck the census pages, as I had misread the name as "Cudeber." I haven't been in contact with descendants of Dallas D. Eastland so I can't really help you. All I have are census records. The 1900 census shows 3 children, Alta, Charles and Isabel. In 1920 he and his second wife have only the daughter in the home and her child: Isabel Cudebec, age 22, and Jane Cudebec, age 1 1/2. Charles was married and living in Buffalo in 1920; 2 children, Ruth, age 6, and Russell, age 5. Charles died in 1980 in New York.
